LOL. It didn't dawn on my "head like rock" frog brain at first what the problem was.....that was poorly phrased....the lyrics to "Lola" (Kinks) come to mind.

*looks for hole to crawl in*

Hockey is only winning the poll because it's expected. The notion that Hockey really is the best sport ever to watch in person is so ingrained into everybody's heads these days, they believe it to be true. Just like the idea that "The Wire" is one of the best shows of all time. Neither notion is even remotely close to reality. Stop being sheep!

I agree. Somehow, in the past decade, this idea about seeing a hockey game live has become a thing to say and believe.

I did not find hockey games to be more thrilling to watch than other games.

There is no expectation because most people have never been to a hockey game. Most that have will rank it first, the ones that haven't will split the vote among the other major sports

It just so happens that this site is a Football site and those fans naturally like hockey because like the NFL, the players aren't pussies like in the NBA and will tend to rank it better "in person" because of the smaller venue and less stoppage of play

I find that hockey and soccer fans are the ones that tell us that the most, the 2 groups that have the biggest inferiority complex in this Country b/c not many people like their sport compared to the big 3.

Your post is completely without any rational thinking and you have nothing to back it up. Besides that you are completely on the mark.

But you sound like you have an inferiority complex. :D

I don't have to tell people how great football and basketball are b/c I know, hockey and soccer fans constantly have to tell us how great it is b/c no one cares.

One poster has 26% of the posts in the entire thread, may not show an inferiority complex but there is some kind of complex at work there.

I would hope that the absurdity of this statement is not lost on you.

Just answer me on this. If soccer sucks, why the hell it is followed by billions all across the world except a few countries? :)

I think NFL is as good as soccer and even better. I also agree basketball is a great sport. But why do you have to shit on soccer constantly when there so much following in the world?

I don't like soccer, I don't think it sucks. clearly it has an appeal to most people around the world but it's not for me. I don't shit on it, I find it comical how hockey and soccer fans always have to tell us how great those sports are. I don't hate either sport(I like hockey, I don't like soccer but I don't hate it).

this is a discussion board, we share opinions. I am honored my opinion means so much to so many but these are just my opinions so no need to take offense if I don't share the same opinion as you guys.

I don't have an inferiority complex about the sports I love, I don't have to shove it down the throats of others telling people how great it is. It's great you guys love hockey and soccer and maybe some day they will be major sports in this Country.

I'm not a soccer fan in the least but I am enjoying this WC and I'm not really a hockey fan, not anymore, but I did enjoy the playoffs.

The absurdity of your statement had nothing to do with fandom, but I'm not surprised that was lost on you.
