I'm not even sure what to say to that... I think it's obvious to 99% of the world that experience doesn't equate to leadership.

    Is this a joke?

Funny thing happened. When I read this part of your reasoning for how much we're lacking leadership, the first two people that popped in my head were Eli Manning and Jeremy Shockey.

Manning was criticized highly last year for his inconsistency, his picks, and folding under pressure. Yet, he led the team to a Super Bowl win. Then, you go into wanting to see someone upset for going three and out and BOOM! I thought Jeremy Shockey. The guy was the "emotional leader" of the offense. He always threw his arms up in the air. Screamed at the top of his lungs coming off the field and you saw him on the sidelines walking back and forth "showing" his leadership.

Yet, the Giants dumped Shockey and Manning is still a New York Giant. Hmm. Who would've thought the Giants would dump the "emotional leader" who always tried to spark the offense, and keep the quiet, confused looking, inconsistent QB that led them to a Super Bowl win.

Here we go with the body language nonsense again. Are you a behavioral analyst or something? Terry Bradshaw was bashing Favre's attitude because of his body language earlier in the season, and Favre threw 6 touchdowns that day and made him look like a moron.

I'll take that as a "I have absolutely no answer to your post because you make sense and I know dick about football and leadership IN football and how it's shown and translated on to the field. You win and I lose. God my life sucks. Is Sunday here yet? I want to create more threads about hating Brett Favre."

To which I'll reply. It's okay. Everyone knows you don't know much. My advice is simple. Post much, much, less and just read and learn more.

I heard your cries all throughout the forum. Waaahh...nobody takes me serious. Waaaah...why are the mods letting people make fun of me. Waaahh. I'm serial guys...where's the leadership? Waaaah.

Besides, I wasn't responding to your post. I was responding to someone else. Anybody that agrees with you gets a chance to explain themselves in my book. As for you...I have already thrown out all your posts/threads as a place to get any kind of serious/knowledgeable football information.

Well, I would agree with you that a team is better off with a consistent leader rather than an emotional one.

Favre is definitely an emotional leader. If I didn't say it before, when things are going well Favre is an exceptional leader. He makes plays, he is always smiling, making jokes with teammates, inspiring others, and improving the entire offense around him.

Then it seems like sometimes he just flips, and becomes anti-favre, and honestly starts looking like Pennington last year.

I'm not saying Favre sucks guys... but it's clear this team lacks leadership. And it doesn't have to be on the players, we lack coaching leadership. Like everyone on here jokes about, what does Mangini do besides chew gum? Where are the halftime adjustments?

On this team, in my opinion, the two best suited players for our team leaders are Leon Washington and Revis. Every week those 2 show up to play, they don't run there mouths, they are consistent, and they provide sparks which improve the play of everyone around them (Well, in the case of Revis him being so good expoits the other corner). Favre is not the ideal leader, since he is too emotional to be depended upon.

Right, but what was originally brought up was the lack of visibility of the so-called leaders on the field. It was said that Chad and Vilma SHOWED leadership on the field. Who was more INCONSISTENT than Chad? That's why people make references to the "towel-waving" Favre. Cause that's what Chad was known for doing on the sidelines when the D was on the field. Some (or one) would like to see Favre do the same thing to show his "leadership" qualities.

If this is the case, then Favre has been a good leader for 9 games and has the Jets as the #1 team in the AFC East and has "lacked" leadership for 5 of them. Not to mention some of them were come-from-behind wins. If he were to falter on those we wouldn't have two of the most meaningful games coming up to wrap this season up.

When he starts waiving towels over his head on the sidelines. Then he'll become like Pennington.

Here's the thing. I don't know if you've followed ouchy's posts. But he's the anti-favre. He wishes we had Pennington back and believes with all his heart that this team would be much, much better off with Pennington this year than with Favre. This is why these threads or his posts cannot be taken seriously. He's into the whole "remove this game/TD/win/ and Brett Favre sucks". It's actually quite sad.

I agree. Revis and L-Dub are leaders and inspire/spark others with their play consistently. Favre is the emotional/experienced leader. See, the difference between u and I might be when you see Favre have a "confused" look on his face on the sidelines when we're down, I see a guy focused thinking about he's gonna bring this team back. I have to believe it. Otherwise why did he come back to play? Why the Jets? The guy hates to lose. He doesn't care about stats or pass ratings. He cares about winning and bringing this team to the Super Bowl. This is what the guy preaches. If you're saying he packs it up when times are tough, we'd be out of this Playoff run a long time ago.

You don't win games purely on leadership. Favre has played poorly in some games this season as have a number of Jets.

The fact that he has demonstrated great leadership throughout the season and his career makes me believe he has that quality. That is something people have or they don't.

What do you think he just forgets how to be a leader some days?

Leadership is the last problem we have. You know guys like Richardson, Faneca, Woody and Favre make their presence felt. The coaches must do better gameplanning and players need to focus on limiting mistakes such as turnovers and dropped passes.

what world are you referring to? because on planet earth...where rational, intelligent people live...they understand leadership is something your learn with experience.

Leadership must have a different meaning in your world.

According to TGD666's warped theory....i could walk on to the Jets roster tomorrow, and become an instant LEADER of the team....because in his little mind, "experience doesn't equate leadership".

so if you guys see me on the Jets sideline on Sunday in Seattle...waving a towel and slapping Favre's ass....then you know TGD666 was right, and i was wrong.
