I wish I could do a photoshop gif of Abraham Lincoln waiving a towel over his head. Or maybe Washington.

I think the original poster had a good point, and I'm amazed at the clusterfuck that has happened since.

I completely agree that especially on offense, we lack true, inspiring leadership. Favre IMO is not a leader based on his inconsistency. I mean, if Ellis didn't run that fumble in last week, do you have faith that Favre would have punched it in from the 20? I don't. When he's not fired up / when things aren't going well, he isn't one to break the mold.

A true leader is consistent, provides key plays, performs under pressure, and makes the people around him better. I would say based on that, Revis and Leon Washington are most suited on our team to be the leaders, however they may lack the personality requirements.

And if you want any more signs that we lack leadership, just watch the players body language man. Nobody seems upset when we go 3 and out (or if we don't get a first down for nearly an entire half, see: Bills last week). Nobody seems upset when the defence let's no-name QB's pass all over us. Maybe they are just tired of the scheme, maybe they are run down, but seriously, who is firing them up? Who is being the leader? Nobody.

This poster is bang on too. Experience doesn't equate to leadership. And we've all seen that look on Favre's face.

And Favrenstein, you should really hold off on making fun of people. You don't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer yourself. So he made a mistake and said 'aviator'. Get over it man, you're just embarrassing yourself.

    some quotes from team mates/coaches
But alas, they know not what some posters on here do about what it takes to be a leader.

The great thing about this message board is how we complain about Mangini and Co. always just giving the media the everyday, granola quotes we want to hear.

And then we use those quotes to try and prove a point.

I'm not denying that in certain games, Favre has been an amazing leader. When things are going well, he is fired up, plays amazing, makes everyone around him better. My problem with him, is as 'exciting' as he is in certain situations (Pats game?), it seems like he's 'down' an equal amount of time. And when he's in that mood, it's time to take the ball out of his hands. I don't know many leaders who you say that about...

I see this way as well.

I appreciate the comment. I know its not easy to post in this thread with a threat of blatent trolling and insults.

I am kind of losing heart that the admins would allow 3 days of blatent trolling and flaming to go unchecked.

Since when do a small amount of posters decide what is right to discuss and what is not?

The players/coaches talk about how he's been a great leader the entire season. Why would we listen to them though? You guys know better by watching on TV how much of a leader he is.

His lack of towel waving is blatant.

Ask the Packers how much they missed his leadership.

I'll keep this short...because i don't like wasting my time.

Claiming that there's no leadership on this team is completely "assinine".....the fact that you think favre is NOT showing leadership tells me you haven't been watching the games and that you're absolutely clueless too...no big surprise there.

As far as the being a 'sharp knife' ....you just PROVED with this retarded post that you're a couple Indians short of a full tribe....but, thanks for trying though.

Obviously we have no way of knowing what's really going on.

From the perspective of the players, he is a great leader.

From my perspective, he hasn't led us to victories against some abyzmul (get it?) teams.

There is obviously no way to settle this argument, I guess it's just perspective.

But your perspective is wrong

    Hey Favrenstein!

It's amazing that in that many words, you didn't manage to convey a message at all, just some cheap insults.

You did waste your time, my apologies. Spend a few more minutes next time, you might be able to think up a few points to refute my post.

    P.s. you're still the front-runner

    hey whatever-your-name-is,

    your post isn't worth remembering....

except this worthless gem "Experience doesn't equate to leadership"...really?

I guess Ratliff & Marques Murrell are the "heads above everyone else" leaders of this team.

    wow.
