Whats even more sad is how even with all these run stoppers, teams still run at will on us....Totally agree on Pace too. We paid him big bucks to be our pass rusher and he cant even beat a TE to the QB.

This. The Jets MO lately is to find a solid player at a position and then ride him until he falls out. So most years we have a player or two falling out and no plan for what to do at that point. That's a big part of 9-7 every year.

Here's something I don't understand, people saying Coples is only a pass rusher etc etc etc. He was great against the run in college and in the preseason for us. I really don't know why we aren't using him more.
I hate to break it to you, but I think you guys are now seeing the real Maybin. He is fast and will get around an edge once in a while. He is just not a complete player and is a liability against the run and gets tossed like a doll by good guards with good feet.
Serious question...How can the Jets beat the Bills week 1? No one here ever thought he was a complete player and we all know he's a liability against the run. You're not breaking anything to anyone and you obviously don't "hate to" do it. How many sacks did Maybin have as a Bill?
not sure what games your watching, maybe highlights? coples has been good when hes out there. against the dolphins he had 2 tackles for no gain, and he was in tannehills face on a play that our cbs fucked up severely. if the coverage was there he would have had the sack. hes playing well, he just needs to hit the field. go watch the games again, you missed it.
I didn't focus on him but profootball focus has him rated at +3.0 against the run for the Miami game. They also have him as the 4th best 3-4 DE against the run in the league so far and Wilkerson is #1. Either their grading is way off or our linebackers suck dick.
LBs been sucking big time. Its weird to say it but I think Bart has been our best LB. Harris has been getting tackles but he gets pushed back so far its weird to see. Pace played pretty well in the Bills game early on at least but has been awful since. The other OLB spot has just been invisible in run support. Pouha hasn't been as great in run D as he has been in the past. I'm looking for Harris to pick his game up. We paid him 8 million for a reason he should be playing better than this. Hopefully a healthy BT will help too.
i just watched the coaches film from the miami game and i gotta say, that sounds suspect to me. he rarely shed his blocker, spent most of the game being pushed around by a single blocker, opposed to wilkerson who made plays with double teams on him. just what i saw, but from what i saw, devito isnt playing that well. our linebackers are sucking a lot, but if devito could shed a block or two and get a double team, they might be able to make more plays.
Thres gonna b som big time defnsive ends during free agency next season (Dwight Freeney) I hope we don't resign Bart Scott, we cut Pace trade Devito and start bringing in more skilled players. We need to reload our defensive front 4 besides Wilkerson,Pouha and Ellis i say get rid of the rest , I hate to say it but this team needs to look at the Giants defense front 4 and model it after that, pass rushers who can run block as well
