This is what I am talking about. We are finally able to run the ball so what do we do, Run and Run then when they make adjustments go to the shotgun and pass. It is like to separate schemes. The running game and passing game should feed off each other. A perfect example was the crossing route to cotch. They never came back to anything like that. You are successful running then you play action and attack the middle of the field because the safeties and linebackers are biting on the run, not the corners on fade routes. It does not make sense. And where is the screen passes out of a split I set, instead of shotgun etc. We are not playing fundamental football and it starts with the coaching staff and getting too cute on play calling. On the biggest play of the game, the 4th down, we line up Pennington to the right of Brad Smith who was lined up behind center, the shifted Brad and Chad, then sent Brad in motion to fake lining up behind center then through a bs fade. How about on 2nd and 1 fake the run and roll out to the right and hit he FB or TE for the td. Everyone else in the NFL does it, and even my 8 year old nephew can make that throw so it is not a Chad issue on that one.
