That might not be the case. Could be that Tebow and the wildcat might be extremely successful, causing Rex to call for it more and more. But who knows, we'll see what happens as the season plays out.
I agree they will go witht he hot hand, but they also will try not to let the other hand get to cold.
Yep. It's the way Urban Meyer ran things if Florida Tebow's first year. Chris Leak was the Senior and the starter for the entire season and racked up nice stats (and did a great job). Tebow came in as a special package whenever Meyer felt like it and did a good job as well. Usually, it was on short yardage and in the red zone, but there were other times Tebow stayed in for a series or two and went right down the field. Then, Chris Leak would come back in.
yea I remember watching that season. even when leak was doing good, the fans still all chanted "tebow...." Oh well, exciting is exciting as long as it means production I dont give a shit.
yeah, he definitely does add excitement to the game. That year, Leak had his second best season and went 232 of 365, for 2942 yds and 23 TDs. Tebow was 22 of 33 for 358 and 5 TDs passing, plus, 89 carries for 469 yards and 8 TDs.
I wonder if the Jets can lure Urban away from University of Ohio. Perhaps he'll have another heart attack caused by sudden better opportunity syndrome? Then all we'll need is Chris Leak and the Jets will win a BCS title (hopefully the computer rankings like us!)
Can sense the sarcasm, but what the heck. If anyone, I'd go after Mullen from Ark State. He was Meyer's offensive CO for Tebow's 2nd and 3rd season. I'm still convinced that given the right QB, the Spread Option will work in the NFL
I don't think he's pure trash but I don't know if I think if he's starting QB material. I honestly think he's the best type of wildcat Qb you can get. When Brad Smith was placed in the wildcat, it was basically a run play 95% of the time. I can't remember when he actually threw it. Maybe he did it once or twice, but it was almost always a run. Nothing wrong with it -- it was effective but with Tebow, there's a much more viable threat of a passing play than Brad, imo. I like Tebow, i just hate his damn fans. He's an awesome option for us as a wildcat QB, ST player, and back up QB,
And the NY Dailey News actually prints, "put your petal to the metal" in a story??? That sounds sort of obscene, and it's definitely either ignorant or lazy or both. The phrase is "put your pedal to the metal" as in the accelerator pedal in a car! DOH. Earth to NYDN: spell checkers are NOT substitutes for intelligent, knowledgeable human editors! Many years ago, a friend giving a report on public health issues passed out copies to meeting attendees before she realized that she had left out the "l" in "public" from the main title on the cover page.
I hope Tibow take over immediately The first six games are tuff ,might as well see what Tibow gots. If he wins great, if not? Start chanting Mc Elroy. Oh, hopefully by then Mark will be on a team that wants him. Then when the jets Finnish 7 - 9 we all can start chanting "Same old Jets" let's say for the next five years.
Tebow has to give this team a reason to start him!!!! If Mark Sanchez plays well then there will be no reason to put in another QB UNLESS! Unless Tebow comes in and outperforms Sanchez on the pitch. He has to move the chains and put the ball in the endzone every time he's out there! We know Mark Sanchez can't move the ball consistently.
Marky Marky is done Sanchez is already showing signs of cracking under the pressure. I give him 5 games at most till he's benched for good.
What signs? Seriously, some of you people crack me up. Mark will be fine and will have a very good year.
