ahh. I didn't put 2+2 together. Now I see how you got started.... My 1st game was in the early 90's @ the meadowlands vs the Colts.......ughhh Also, realized that if ya sit too close you really don't see anything...
In games I have attended here is the Jets record against each opponent: Buffalo 10-10(1983, 1987, 1990-current plus a road game in '98) Miami 12-6('90-current plus 1 road game in '98) New England 9-9('90-current plus 1 road game in 2000) Baltimore 1-2('97, '98, '04) Cincy 4-0('92, '93, '01, '04) Cleveland 1-1('90, '02) Pittsburgh 1-2('90, '00, '03) Houston 1-0(2004) Indy 5-10('88,'90-current, includes '02 playoffs) Jacksonville 3-2('95, '98 playoffs, '99, '03, '05) Tennessee(also houston oilers) 1-2('91, '96, '03) Denver 2-2('93, '94, '00, '02) KC 1-2('92, '01, '02) Oak 2-2('95, '96, '97, '05) SD 1-3('90, '91, '94, '05) Dallas 1-2('90, '93, '03) NY Giants 0-2('96, '03) Philly 0-2('93, '96) Washington 0-2('99, on the road in '03) Chicago 1-1('94, '00) Detroit 0-2('94, '00) GB 2-0('91, '02) Minny 2-0('97, '02) Atlanta 1-0(1998) Carolina 1-0(1998) NO 1-3( '92, '95, '01 on the road, '05) TB 3-0('91, '97, '05) Arizona 1-0(1999) SL 0-2('95, '01) SF 1-3('89, '92, '01, '04) Seattle 3-0('98, '99, '04) Overall the Jets record in games I have attended is 69-73 which isn't bad considering through 1996 they were 20-36 in games I had attended.
I remember that. Wasn't it kind of an option-style pitch out from Todd? That whole year was one giant case of blue balls. We had a good team, management was a bunch of dumbasses for letting Walt Michaels go after the 1982 season.
according to my Dad, I attended my first in 1973 and junc i cannot believe you know the breakout of your lifetime attendance.....not sure what to make of that
it's not that difficult to remember, I have been to every game since 1990 and it'se asy to remember the 4 games pre-1990. I uised to know the scores of every game but I'm getting old now and that is starting to fade but I do know if we won or lost in any given year.
I don't remember whether it was a straight hand off or an option, I just remember the two-minute warning with the Jets roundabout the Bills 30 yard line (watching at home on TV) thinking we had the game in the bag and all of a sudden the fumble, the Bills jumping on it, me with my head in my hands, (little did I know NYJUNC was at Shea probably doing the same thing) and Ferguson executing a prefect drive towards the closed end of the field, even throwing for a TD with the Bills well inside of FG range...that game put the Jets at 4-7 essentailly ending any realistic chance they had at making the playoffs - a real disturbing year even for a 12 year old kid....
That's like me, but I'm about 10-12 years older than you. Now I have a hard time remembeing recent wins/losses. For a long time I knew scores, etc. If you know how the schedule works, like which NFC division we played what year, etc, it makes it easier to keep the years and opponents straight.
This is true and if you know this then you know the Jets usually did/do quite well whenever they play the NFC Central/North.. 1979 8-8 (3-1 vs NFC Central) 1982 6-3 (4-0 - last time we ever went undefeated vs NFC) 1985 11-5 (2-2 vs NFC Central) 1988 8-7-1 (1-0 only played Detroit due to last place schedule) 1991 8-8 (made playoffs , 2-2 vs NFC Central) 1994 6-10 (only down year vs NFC Central) 1997 9-7 (3-1 vs NFC Central) 2000 9-7 (3-1 vs NFC Central) 2002 9-7 (3-1 vs NFC North) Much better than their record against the NFC East ......
My first Jets game was the Jets-Eagles game a few years ago in Philadelphia. My aunt has season tickets so I get to go to a game every year. I went to the Jets-Eagles pre-season game this year. I can't wait to go to a regular season game in the Meadowlands
Geeze... I know it was at Shea, Joe Willy, in December and I swore I'd never go to another game again. Man, I was miserable cold. I of course did go to many more after that, and it wasn't until the third or fourth year in Jersey that I began to stay home for games. These days, i'm pretty happy to get the smoker going, have some friends over, quaff some brew and enjoy the game on HDTV instead. I get my fix at training camp... but will soon lose that pleasure to NJ as well.... I hate Joisey. Really, I do.
My first game, believe it or not, was a Jets road game at New England in October 1986 when I was a student at UMASS. The Jets won 31-24, but not before Grogan came in and almost led the Pats to a comeback win. My biggest memory from that game was that McNeil didn't play, but Johnny Hector picked up the slack, carrying the ball 40 times! After the game my buddies and I went to a Briuns-Whalers hockey game at Boston Garden (that was my first hockey game too!) Man, was the Garden an absolute armpit of a place! GREAT day! The only downside was that I caught a VICIOUS cold that day (I was proudly wearing a Jets tee-shirt at the Pats game, but it was a bit too cold - should have known better. Boy did I pay for that over the next few days!!!!)
