except he didn't stink up until the end, w/ tebow last year Den scored about 3-7 pts and the D held opponents down. Sanchez had a million drops yesterday or we easily win that game(n ot to mention 2 brutal calls- 1 that led to Miami TD and 1 that took away a Jet TD).
Slow down buddy. Nobody would sound like an idiot naming 15 better. Saying it is debatable is one thing, but acting like he is definitively top 10 is just as absurd as going the other direction and saying he is terrible.
Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers Eli Manning Peyton Manning Big Ben Phillip Rivers Tony Romo Matt Schaub Michael Vick Joe Flacco Edit: I like Sanchez and I still think he has a great chance to be our franchise qb for years to come. However, acting like he is anywhere near an elite quarterback right now is downright silly and borderline preposterous. He's a young, developing quarterback with a lot of potential who is still far too inconsistent to be considered an upper-echelon quarterback.
You talking about the false start that just didn't exist. I was pissed when they called it and then they showed the replay... I don't know what they were looking at. Nothing happened.
On Slauson? I thought I saw him fidgeting around. Also, we hadn't been able to get the 1 yard required on the previous two downs. I don't know why we're expecting the opposite 3rd down from the 1.
Actually, Mark is 50/99 with a 50.5 completion percentage, worst in the entire NFL. And he's 31/72 in last two games. I think it's fair to say he's not a top ten QB right now. I really was excited when we draft him, he was great as a rookie, good as a second year, but inconsistent last year and this season he's even more evanescent. Ok our WR's drop passes, our O-line has issues and so on, but he still makes too many mistakes and too many bad throws. I like the guy, he has a good attitude, but he's not a great QB, and unfortunately i'm start thinking he'll never be. At least i hope he will pull a "Trent Dilfer" during his career.
Mark played a better game then what everyone is giving him. There were at least 8 dropped passes, 3 from Hill one of those was a easy TD catch and another one on a big third down that would have put us in scoring position. Powell dropped a big third down catch that would have went for about 15 yards and put us in scoring position. Mark did miss on two deep balls late that could would have been scores and missed cumberland wide open in the endzone. But for the most part I think if they catch these balls Sanchez has 100+ more yards, another TD or 2 and 8 more completions and the game isnt as tight as it was. Defense has not impressed me one bit. All this talk about being dominant and being the best, there far from it. Rookie qb driving in the 4th and OT. I thought it was embarrassing
Also the 2 picks werent his fault. First one the reciever ran the route to thin instead of cutting in more. Second one Cumberland didnt finish his route and let his defender make a play on the ball
broncos averaged 18.5 points per game with Tebow at QB despite having one of the lowest turnover rates(9 INT, 9 fumble recoveries) and the 2nd highest drop rate of any team in the NFL. for comparison sake I think the jets had 25 points per game and had19 interceptions and 12 fumble recoveries. Sanchez is getting screwed by the players around him, but don't bring Tebow in to this because he dealt with the same problems in Denver.
Let me preface this with, I am a J-E-T-S fan and have been since Namath was drafted. But, how many times do I have to read entries like this before the realization hits that maybe, just maybe, Sanchez isn't the QB we expected, wanted or deserve. The team, the players all have flaws, but those flaws do not mean Sanchez gets a free pass in every game. They do not mean if not for.... we would have won the game or won the game by more. I do not think Sanchez will be with the Jets after his contract runs it's course. What will we do? I don't know, but as an organization we need to do something, and it needs to be started as soon as possible. Personally, I will be a 'McElroy' fan until he is traded or we get an obvious top 10 QB in the draft. Just my 2 cents!
The first one is debatable and I tend to agree with you (and Rich Gannon, who delineated the exact same point during the game) but the second throw was a horrendous, Vinny-quality decision. I thought Sanchez's performance was mixed, like usual. He made some very clutch throws and did an unusually good job of dealing with the pressure when his pass-protection broke down. He also overcame a dropped touchdown pass and several other dropped passes for big yardage. And yet, he overthrew two open receivers for what would have been walk-in touchdowns and he threw a game-changing, momentum-annihilating, interception on 3rd and goal inside the 5 yard line. At the end of the day, he drove us for the lead, and eventually, the win. I just wish he could find a way to be more consistent.
