I think we need to go OL in the first round next year. Bryan's replacement is a valid thought, but we need to upgrade RT and RG. Depending on who is available, I would hope we go RT, RG or OLB in the first, and then the other two in the next two. RT or RG can be very critical as we already have C and LT with solid all-pro talent. Another pro bowl level talent can do wonders for this organization for years to come as we have C and LT locked up long term.
BT is a big loss. he wasn't a great pass rusher but he's does a little bit of everything fairly well. one of the unsung heroes on the defense the past 2+ years
I saw a little promise 1 or 2 preseasons ago but since then I really haven't seen much in term of pass rushing. Frankly I've seen more from Maybin in 3 games (preseason and regular season) than I've seen from Westerman in over 2 years. But I guess I'm alone in this one cause the concensus seems to be he's a decent pass rusher.
Maybin has the speed rusher skill set so he's more of a threat coming off the edge.Maybin is a better pass rushing specialist but I feel he's too small to be anything but that. Westerman is a much more rounded player.
What a disaster this is turning out to be this year. Thomas isn't a superstar, but he's one of those glue players that does a little bit of everything and holds things together. Westerman sucks.
Yes, but we've seen Scott deployed in different positions in some schemes, Mauga would give a bit more freedom to get creative.
We don't have enough depth for someone off the bench to come in and take his place. If Banta-Cain is still available, we should get him. Same thing with the offensive line, we obviously have no depth there so we need to see if we can get some asshole off his couch who has better instincts than Vlad "QB KILLER" Ducasse and Wayne "The Human Turnstile" Hunter.
this is a lot like the leonard injury last year...... not a name that jumps out to most people but a really important piece who goes beyond stats.
