Duh, and that's what a QB should do, take what the defense gives you. Not easy to make a tight throw when you're in 3rd and long and the defense knows your have to throw. Even vet QBs would have a hard time making those throws unless they were playing the Jets, where 3rd downs are great opportunities to make big gains.
