Hopefully they can make the playoffs and Favre can audible out of every horseshit passing call Schotty makes and actually throw the ball down field to in order to get some big leads that Sutton can try to blow, until he is knocked unconscious by an ice ball from an agitated fan.

I have a feeling the poll results would have been alot closer if it was a private poll. Not many people are willing to admit publicly how much of a loser they are.

I agree, every other year half the board is rooting for a better draft pick.

Yeah, but I don't dig private polls. If you're going to vote for something on a public message board, at least be accountable for it. Private polls are for the weak.

I actually did a public poll in '05 when people were rooting for the #1 pick, it was a lot of people. Then the board crashed and I lost it. Guess I should have taken a screenshot.

Did you see Favre's downfield throws last Sunday? Not something I want him doing on the regular...

I voted for "to win out and host the WC game"....I'm not a huge fan of Mangini...but I'm a "fan" first....and want to see the Jets succeed.

If it doesn't work out that way...then the discussions about our coaching situation will have some merit. Until then....GO JETS!

The thing is, despite the varying level of doubts fans have about Mangini, and I share them, he has not comitted some awful transgression, yet, that would make his firing essential. It's been more in the nature of a concern that the team underperforms, and it is at least within the realm of the possible that the Jets could turn it around still.

Now, if they DID win out in the regular season and go deep in the playoffs, would it really make sense to get rid of him? It wouldn't happen under any circumstances.

After all, Cowher had his critics, and I think he can certainly be criticized for such things as sticking with Kordell too long. They had to go to the playoffs several times before winning it all. If the Jets can somehow win out and win a playoff game or two, Mangini will be back.

In my opinion, the 8 people (so far) who voted for the Jets missing the playoffs aren't worthy of being posters on this site.

This made me think of another similar choice so I'll post it here:

    Which would you rather:

A: Mangini, while in the shower listening to opera, slips on the soap and breaks his neck. The fall was such that the plugged in radio fell to the floor. Since no one was home, the water kept running and flooded the bathroom. Then, Sutton and Shotty come over for a strategy meeting and both walk into the bathroom and are electrocuted.

    B: $100

I'll take the division title, please. It's not like the Jets come across those very often. New head coaches on the other hand? Been there, done that. And if nothing else, us missing the playoffs would mean either the Dolphins or Pats win the division. Blech.

Bill Cowher is not even that good. He won one Super Bowl and it sure felt rigged.

If the Jets go 11-5 and win the division, than there's no reason for Mangini to get the axe. Maybe Sutton, but not Mangini
