Copied: Edit: I should also mention Chris Ivory. I've always loved him as a runner but it seems like this year he's in better shape and she's a lot quicker. I also remember him having stone hands last year but he was actually catching some passes this preseason. I really think this is going to be hisbreakout year and wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if he eclipses 1000yards.

    My take

Only way he doesn't break 1000 this year is if he misses games. This is the year Ivory gets fed the rock and shows everyone he is a workhorse-lead back. The mans a beast and I've always thought he was faster and quicker then he was given credit for. Also I never thought his hands were awful, not the best but better then everyone makes it seem. He's one of the few good moves Idzik made. To me he wasn't really a surprise I'm just happy this coaching staff is giving him the chance to be the lead back and give him over 15 touches a game, hopefully 20+

The fact that we conserve timeouts.
    NO TOO MANY MEN PENALTIES.
We're actually causing turnovers for a change.
Keeping our dumb penalties to a minimum.
Not seeing Kyle Wilson give up 3rd n 21 1st downs.

I'd say our coaching staff in general. Given 'Bowles of Macc' has had some adversity already, our cs stays stoic in response. Even Chan seems to be doing well given the tools at his disposal.

I'm impressed with the overall depth of this team. Pretty good quality backups at almost (TE?) position.

I think he has already proved that. He appears quite mature and disciplined within himself. Unless I am mistaken, that was what I think jdon meant. Nothing to do with football; everything to do with being able to properly address a press corps and not act like a child.

if our starters are half as good as our 2nd/3rd stringers we'll win a lot of games this season

I'd have to say Powell has really impressed me, he's shown great vision and seems to always make a play when he gets the ball in his hands.
Stacey has impressed me also, the kid is like a bowling ball rolling down hill and seems to always get a few more yards after impact.

    Miles has also impressed me.
The kid is always around the ball.

Gailey has impressed me in that he is able to tailor his offense to his players as opposed to the other way around.
I can't help but feel if Sanchise was with him from the beginning of his career he'd still be our starting QB and quite possibly could have won us a SB.

I'm sure their are others but I'm sorta drawing a blank.

I know this question wasn't asked but I've really lost confidence in Demario Davis.
I really had high hopes for this kid becoming an above average LB'r but I can't help but feel he will be average his whole career.

I'm most impressed by how we seemed to turn the talent level around in such a short time frame. Granted, it cost a lot of money, but if we can continue finding young talent to replace the vets as they age out, we should be in good shape over the next few years.

We can't keep bringing in "projects" at several positions, that culture seems to have changed.

Hell, we're a week away from the season and we're still bringing in WR and QB'S to look at. That to me says true compitition.

I'm not used to thinking TOUCHDOWN!!! I still catch myself counting off for the inevitable FG attempt as soon as we reach the 30 yard line.

I would love to give a ton of credit to Bowles but it seems 90%+ should go to Macc at this point. It'd be hard for any HC to screw it up with the boat load of talent Macc hauled in. In time that may change with good game plans and good game management from Bowles, but for now the 13 virgins go to Macc. Bowles first big play will be handling the Geno / Fitz situation in 4 weeks. That one decision will make or break his time in NY.

During last nights game Macc said he spends time on the sidelines looking in his players eyes. He wants to see fire. Loved that. He also said when on the sidelines he scouts the other team. Loves to scout. It's really nice having a GM that knows more than just $$$$$s. He's always looking for that one players that's even a tiny bit better than what he has. That's how we ended up with Carpenter, Skrine, Fitz, Marshall, Leonard, etc. Macc has an eye for talent. Even talent TGG kills him for bringing in (haha at first). I think he will earn his nick name Macc the Knife, especially in the locker room.

It feels weird cutting guys we would have killed for last season. Makes me wonder how Ryan won ANY games here the last 2 years.

It was fun watching the game then reading the game thread and seeing all the TGG experts KILLING Timmy Tebow, only to have him paste 2 TDs on us (and looking horrible as usual doing it. Only Tebow).

We'll lose our share of games, but really don't see us getting blown out in any of them. Even games we lose will be close to the last minute. Seems like we have a tough team.

    Bring on the season!

Ivory and Powell look ready to roll in this O, thats the biggest thing I came away impressed with. theres enough offensive tools and smart play calling to make even a limited QB like Fitzpatrick look good.

I'm gonna wait till the monday night game before I'm impressed with the D, Luck and the colts make for a good test for our pass rush, inside linebackers and secondary.

Man that offensive line looks stout!!! Now i must say i'm impressed with how fast fitz get the ball out but i didn't get to see Geno run this O yet...but that may be the case, Fitz just makes his reads much faster... but still in all, the holes for the RB's were open.. Fitz didn't have any distractions really while making his reads.. and most plays were positive gains..

If our offense can even be middle of the pack we'll be scary...
