thats the a hell of a way to put it, i feel the exact same way. him leaving was good but he wasnt a fucking plague to us.i wish him luck but he just went from curtis martin to larry johnson and he might end johnsons career. kudos on your words though
2001 Results-Final 4 games 3-1 2002 Results-Final 4 games 3-1 2004 Results-Final 4 games 1-3 There was only one season that we "backed up" into the playoffs, and those games that we lost were against the Pats(playoff team),Steelers(playoff team) and Rams who went 8-8 Im not bragging about getting to playoffs 3 times but saying that he wasnt a good coach, or saying the reason that we had 7 shoutouts in the second half was because of someone else and only them is stupid.
Herm has thrown us into the mess we are today, we were always better than a 2nd round exit, yet thats were he led us. Big games came and he made horrible calls. We were never conditioned enough, thats why we lost all the big games in OT, he also never made adjustments, he was allright for motivation but for x's and o's he was probably the worst coach in the league.
Mangini Quote On Chad Pennington, who expects to be ready for the passing camp at the end of the month: "He's exceeding my expectations in terms of the way he approaches things and his professional attitude ... When Chad's ready to go, he'll be ready to go." lol - "When Chad's ready to go, he'll be ready to go" - hrmm who does that remind you of?
I love the eternal Herm debate and was a great supporter of him and our playoff visits. Been a Jet fan since 1970, endured Coslet, kotite, fake spike...so getting to the playoffs has felt great. BUT...the opening game last year changed my my opinion of Herm as we went to KC and got completely RUN OVER. Six fumbles, our defense was slow, out of position, couldn't stop the run. We looked completely unprepared and I lay the blame for this on Herm and the coaching staff. With only 16 regular season games, teams need to start quickly (which we never did under Herm), build momentum and finish strong. After that KC game we never got going.
Haha. That's not nearly as bad as a Herm quote. What he probably meant was: "When Chad's ready to go (physically with his shoulder), he'll be ready to go (mentally with learning the new offensive system)."
Not sure, but Herm would have proclaimed him the starter, said he's currently at 87.375% and said something about a bus, a toilet plunger, and a twinkie.
I'm not going to get into this coach bashing before our new head coach has even coached a regular season game for us. Sheees, I gave Herm three (3) Seasons before I started to scream for his head. Lets give the guy a break here. Now as for all you Herm supporters, just one little stat. Against teams that finished the season with winning records, Herm would win only one (1) out of three (3).
Whoah, let's not go overboard. We were not decimated by injuries. Every team has injuries, and we were no different. Though we didn't have everyone, if you look at our previous seasons, we always lost people.
The NFL rankings are kind of dumb, they only measure yards. I like the Aikman Efficiency Rating much better myself, and actually watching games. Regardless, the Points total is probably the most important to watch. What was the points allowed average and total rating? What was it for the final 8 games? The final 4? The playoffs? You'll see that the patriots defense was phenomenal towards the end, including when they walloped us. What was it, 0 first downs in the first half?
Keep all of this in mind when thinking about bringin in Spags. We were saying the EXACT same things about Mangini. Why would we put ourselves through the same shit again?
yeah only unlike Mangidiot that the nfl rankings back Spags. so does his success in ny. u think shanahan is the guy? your sadly mistaken
