Herm sucked as a coach, sit back and see as the Chiefs are battling for a top 5 pick the next 3 years.

No reply from rajenssen, the usual trolling, everyone should just ignore the guy's threads.

Too bad he didn't also post the Patriots' defenders' heights and weights, then he'd really have us in a pickle.

Weren't they plagued by injuries last year? Hmm...Yes.

Didn't the Patriots make a run at the end of the year and make the playoffs? Hmm...Yes.

Didn't Mangini have a reputation around the league among the CSs and FOs of being a defensive and coaching prodigy? Many of whom thought he would be a HC someday? Hmm...Yes.

Wasn't Belicheck and Parcells both singing his praises for years? Hmm...Yes.
(And I will take the opinion of HOF coaches over you anyday).

Are you a troll, that keeps coming back even though he keeps getting bitch slapped around TGG? Hmm...Yes.

Wow...excellent points. Now at least we know where you stand concerning EM.

Call me crazy...I just like him because he promised not to pat 300lb lineman on the asses after they went an entire game without a tackle....saying to them "better luck next time...you can do it...your 300lbs!!"

OH the KC players will love Herm out there when Summer Camp starts. I am just thinking how I can send them a Keg of beer and some hotdogs and hambergers to help their camp go as Herm plans it to go. He was a Joke and if you think he had enough coaching skills to get us further then he did with a Parcells built team YOUR CRAZY.
1). No realtime adjustments when a team is picking us apart.
2). No killer instink to play to WIN not just hope for a 4th Qt field gaol.
3). Players all year just out of shape or too old and never tried our youth
4). ALL HIS CAMPS WERE A COMPLETE JOKE
5). Never had a undertanding of the X' & O's of the game. WHEN -- TELL ME WHEN did you ever SAY --- OMG Herm outcoached that guy today. NEVER.

there is someone that posts on the yahoo jets fan list who does the same exact thing. He trolls and posts negative posts to piss off the jets fans there. he has pretty much completely ruined that board. What he does is he creates several different handles so he can start over again.

Not much you can do about it I guess. I figured this place might be a bit tougher to troll having a moderator and all though. Anyway, its real anoying.

I must remind you that backing in to the playoffs, or depending on 15 other teams to win or lose, really doesn't count in the eyes of a true football fan..

And, getting into the playoffs 3 times and not getting us a ticket to the big dance really isn't anything I would brag about.

Well. in 2004 the Jets defense had seven second half defensive shoutouts. The Jets won six of those games. Pretty good realtime adjustments when a team is picking the Jets apart. Herman Edwards outcouched a lot of teams in 2004.

and wasn't 2004 when Mangini managed to coach Troy Brown up into a CB that helped catapult and win the Pats a Superbowl?

    cheers

Good point...the only problem with that is Herm didnt give out the offensive playbook until after the game.

Hey...you want to keep defending the guy that took a knee in is his biggest play call of his career...feel free.

Dude, what is your love affair with Herm Edwards? I can understand if you don't think Eric Mangini is the answer. I am also skeptical, yet positive. But to sit there and support this ass-hat is borderline retarded.

If his only accomplishments in NY where that he led a team with 7 2nd quarter shutouts, and that he made the playoffs 3 out of 5 years, that is downright pathetic. How often do you hear a Bills fan brag about going to 4 consecutive superbowls, but not winning any??? Probably not too often becuase it is an embarresment to them. They called it a fucking curse. Yet you wanna praise Herm for making the playoffs 3 times.....LAME.

And how do you simply ignore the fact that he ruined our franchise qb, ran our aging future HOF runningback into the ground despite injuries, made promises to players he did not keep, squandered numerous game-time opportunities, and when he ran out of people to blame he was all assholes and elbows to KC.

I don't agree with the initial post but it's funny seeing people defending Mangini using the same arguments that many people discounted when used to defend Herm.

Not to get into a Herm discussion but the bottom line on him to me is

    3 healthy seasons = 3 playoff appearance
2 injury plagued seasons = 2 losing seasons

He wasn't the greatest HC but he sure isn't as bad as people like to believe.

Mangini has more potential then Herm because of his Xs and Os knowledge and who he learned under but Herm was an actual NFL player so he probably knows quite a bit more about football then people want to believe.

Yes, but even with the injuries on defense, Mangini helped bring the team to the playoffs. Maybe not the SB, but they still made a run at the end. When the Jets were injured, Herm was still not able to use backup players and coach them into the playoffs, and the Jets copletely collapsed.
