Excellent post. I couldn't agree more. I don't see what the problem is. Just wear them. You are repping the team, not the player. In other words, you are a JETS fan, NOT a Vilma fan.
I just have a Martin.. but was thinking about buying a new one.. Whoever that was that was selling them, I'm interested
That is a good point. But, if we didn't care about the player, wouldn't we all just get blank practice jerseys and save the money? It's abit of both for me, but I admi I dont; wear my Vilma, Martin, or Chrebet once and now that I have a Favre and Gholston coming, I doubt I'll wear the pennington either....plus, it's huge on me.
I've got Vilma and Pennington and we have lost both this year - I dare not get a Mangold in case he goes too!!!
I had a Gastineau jersey when I was a kid. My mom still uses it to clean. As long as it's being put to good use!
Keep all of them! You never know when you'll need them again. I don't regret keeping my Coles and Vinny jerseys! Right now, I've got Favre, Ferguson, Vilma, McCareins(I know what you're thinking- it was 40 bucks, whatever.) Coles, Moss, Pennington, Testaverde, Martin, K.Johnson, and this one is great- O'Donnell, it is really tight on me though. I'm trying to get a name plate that reads "Keller" stitched over my McCareins jersey.
Need help on purchasing retired player jersey. Any ideas? I am interesting in getting a Mickey Shuler jersey. Looks like I am SOL according to the Jets and NFL current jersey policy regarding name and number that one can print on a new jersey. Any assistance will be appreciated.
i just purchase player jersey shirts. that way when they're gone i don't feel bad about dropping all that money.
Buy them when they leave. That way the jersey is cheaper, and it's like paying tribute to their time as a jet.
I never wear jersey's because only dorks wear them. You know who wears jerseys? Girls whose boyfriends are playing the game...
I gave some of mine to my GF's golden retriever to wear on Sundays. Worked out pretty well. One of them happen to be Coles haha.
