Dude the Jets are REBUILDING and for a REBUILDING team to be 5-5 when just about everyone, including myself thought this team would win no more than 6 games is incredible and speaks for a young coach and coaching staff that is getting the best out of a 'serviceable' team. We are at least another draft and FA signing period or two from being a very good team and 3 from being an upper echelon team. I wish people would come off the ledge and not take this thing so seriously I mean REALLY what did most people expect? A Super Bowl, with THIS team? Everyone knew this was not gonna be a very good team so why are some people surprised with our play?
What seperates the Jets from a good football team is our record. The NFL today is a league of mediocre teams. The Colts, the Ravens, the Bears and any other top team that comes to mind, aren't that much better than the Jets or the 49ers or any number of other teams that still might emerge this year. There isn't an elite team in the NFL right now and their hasn't been for years.
Hey Foley, let me ask you this. Are you at least happy about the direction the team is moving? Most of us knew this year was a rebuilding year, and were looking for signs of progress. I know I have seen progress, and am reasonably satisfied that things are headed in the right direction. That's why all this talk about the team sucking is making you look really bad. If you expected anything mroe then an 8-8 season this year, then you did not have realistic expectations.
