I don't characterize a player as toxic unless he makes an ass of himself or other players complain about him. Percy Harvin has that rep.
Theres no malcontents on the team, just downers, or neutral forces that aren't helpful. Geno seems to have lost his team, he had a good offseason, and I think the support for him up until now was genuine, but the pressures mounted on him when it counted the most and he's lost his team. Chris Johnson is not a locker room cancer or anything, but he's not a motivating force in the locker room either. he's just chill, which works for him and maybe lets him play comfortably, but doesn't add much when morale is low. Otherwise I can't think of anybody, Colon and giacomini just has a pugnacious attitude on the field which at worse causes penalties but could be a net positive in the locker room as a motivational tool, and the rest are just fine.
No one player is responsible for the turmoil in the locker room(If there is such). That is the coach and his staff's responsibility to be up front about everything.
This is one of the big problems with this team ,there isn't a lot of veteran leadership.Who are the actual leaders of this team?Wilk?nah Sheldon?I could see it one day but not yet.Who are our leaders?every team has them on both sides of the ball it usally starts with the QB .Id say Demario Davis may be one at some point but as of right now there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of leadership on both sides of the ball.
It's mostly anecdotal evidence that really means nothing which is why I won't commit to him. My most concrete feeling on Wilk is that the Jets shouldn't pay him top 3 money at his position. Top 5 perhaps, but not top 3.
