I know, I know, this guy blows. But the man could play a 12 string acoustic guitar like nobodies business. RIP Stevie, the music world is now drawing all sorts of frauds and dipshits. _
How do you like the music? This song is a Turkish song but the person who sings it is a Kurdish guy who supports PKK and Kurdish freedom. He is singing an enemy song but he sings it wonderfully. Overall more than 8 million views. Not bad. Not bad at all. Edit: Also Stokes. Not trying to be a prick but shawarma is the Arabic name for the famous Kurdish/Turkish dish "Doner". And Turks and Kurds are not really in love with Arabs. In fact they hate each other. Kurds hate Turks, Turks hate Kurds and both Kurds and Turks hate Arabs and Arabs hate them all. Also Arabs hate each other as well. I have been to Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iraq and you can't believe the stuff I have seen.
LOL. I thought it was a generic Turkish food, WTF do I know? My son bought me a tajine for Christmas, I WILL make an authentic Turkish dish soon. We plan on a trip to Greece in the next few years and we're definitely going to Constanti...I mean Istanbul whilst we're there. About the music, it's a bit foreign to my ears. The sitar is not something I've ever been accustomed to and because I can't understand what he is saying, it makes the song hard to decipher. He sounds in pain, is it about love? No, it's about war? I can't pick that up. _
Enjoy your trip Stokes and definitely see Istanbul. The most beautiful and sexy city in the world. My American friends who visited there loved the food and scenery. Be careful with the Taxi drivers as they are mostly crooks and you should be good. The song is about love. The guy serenades his lover with a passion, bla bla bla
Yeah haven't figured that out yet. Gotta wait to see where my younger guy goes abroad next year. I'm pulling for Florence--I'll do 2 weeks all over Tuscany. _
Just got tix for Santana in August PNC Center. One of my favorite guitar solos at the 1:40 mark. One of my first albums (cassette) _
Seeing The Sidemen and the Uptown Horns tonite. The Sideman are 3 guitarists that toured with Steely Dan, the Dickey Betts Band and The Gregg Allman Band in the past, have been touring together for a few years. Small venue, about 200 people. Pretty psyched. _
I'm listening to Steve Stone - I'm having a root canal. It's kinda like having laughing gas to mask the pain...
What's every use for their music library? I pay 10 bucks a month for Google Play. Has just about everything you need. They just uploaded the entire Led Zeppelin discography this morning, so I am pretty excited.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps from the George Harrison memorial concert. Listen to Prince's guitar solo at about the 3:27 mark till the end. Remarkable. _
Love these two performances from The Black Keys & Dave Grohl ... http://en.musicplayon.com/play-touch?v=567364 http://cms.springboardplatform.com/embed_iframe/1707/video/879713/hick001/hi-check.com/5
