Depends on the town. Nicest towns in Bergen County are 30% of Westchester County. If his primary residence were NJ he'd have to pay them anyway. _

I chose player(s)/other. I really want to keep him and really hope we extend him. However, I would only be very down to trade him for a good starting QB like Rivers. We are in a semi win now position and are missing the QB that will help us win. We'd also be able to draft a QB to sit behind him until Rivers is out and he is ready. I am not saying this is remotely possible or a real option. But that's what it would take for me. Possibly a high first rounder, but definitely for a good QB. That's what we need.
this thread is a year too early....maybe 2 years. He'll be franchised next year POSSIBLY the year after. As someone else said, by then Harris money is off the cap, Dbrick off the cap and who knows who else.
It is not in the Jets beat interest to sign him this year. negotiate after the season tag or trade him next if you can't reach a contract. That said, would not shock me to see him traded in this draft if we decide to move up. Something like MO and 6 for 3 and Jax 3rd and swapping seconds
I'd let him play out this season. Then see where the team is, what our needs are, and whether we can afford to keep both Wilkerson and Richardson. If we look like we're close to contending, franchise him for a season. If we look like we're still nowhere near competing, the money might be better spent elsewhere.
I think were headed for a disaster with him or Richardson.. With suh and jj watts contracts franchising eithor one will be killer. If eithor one hits free agency they will command huge dollars. It's gonna be tricky for Mac to resign both.i hope he pulls it off. It's gonna be a tough task.
We would get 1 first rounder for him, probably somewhere in the 14-21 spot, probably closer to 18-21 range. I'd rather keep Richardson if it comes down to one or the other.
Why does any team trade away any player for unproven high draft picks? Are you willing to overpay for Wilkerson in place of resigning Richardson within the next year or two? Everyone has this huge notion that the guys going to come at some huge discounted price because we drafted him and he seemingly likes it here. When players generally retire before they're 35 with no plan of income after football they need to plan to make as much money as possible in 6-12 years to finance the next 40 years of their respective lives. It sounds easy to us but not when your standard of living is that of a rich football player in your 20s and 30s. There's no reason anyone should expect a player to go back to a team at a discounted price, but that doesn't mean the team needs to equally show that loyalty in sacrificing their teams roster because a player has a higher figure in their head than they are actually worth.
Players like him aren't a dime a dozen. He's not a good player, he's a great player and he's among the top three or four at his position. I don't want to trade a rare player like him for a gamble on another 1st round pick. Pay the man
30M up front seems a little prohibitive, but if that means Jets can get by with 4-5M/yr per LBs behind, so be it. [By 30M up front, I mean to say Richardson and Wilkerson.]
