For me, it was a toss up between Leaving before the game is over and Being loud/obnoxious/foul-mouthed around the kiddies. I chose the latter.
There should be another option: fans who get angry at other fans yelling and cursing around their kids. Fuck that. It's a football game. I'm there to have a good time, not raise your kids.
Does these count as options? 1) Fans with the "Same Old Jets" mentality. 2) "Fans" who post on a message board that we lost when there's still 2 minutes left in the game. A game we're winning.
if you don't want your kids hearing and seeing shit thats inappropriate THEN DONT BRING THEM TO A FOOTBALL GAME AROUND A BUNCH OF DRUNK ASSHOLES. if you choose to do so, then you have no one to blame but yourself, deal with it, their gonna hear the words at somepoint in life, probably 9 years old so who the fuck cares if i call someone a pussyassbitchcocksuckingfaggot in front of little Jimmy and Suzy. people need to stop pussifying football, who gives a fuck about the women and children, this is football. take them to a fucking Mets game if you want the mickey-mouse family environment
I have small children. I swear like a truck driver in front of them. My older daughter was well prepared for the 2 Jets games I brought her to at 4y.o. They are both mature enough (also thanks to my wife's excellent parenting) that they don't repeat "daddy's bad words". How I raise my children may not be appropriate based on how you raise your children. However, as WSW said, I know the types of environments my children may be exposed to at an early age (Jets games, bowling alley, when dad's friends are over) and I am fine with it. They should be well tempered by now....
I think some are confusing the guy that has a few beers and throws out an occasional fuck during a game with the drunk that is falling all over and 99 out of 100 words are Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, CockSucker, MotherFucker, and Tits. It is possible to let a few fly without being a complete fucking asshole but some just can't do that. Why should someone with kids have to deny them going to a game just because someone else can't act somewhat mature? Edit: Just wanted to add that I voted that selling tickets to the other teams fans was the worst.
So your right to curse is greater than my right of enjoying a ballgame with my kids? I realize many people have lost all sense of common decency but whatever happened to plain old manners?
Good thing you're not a Jet fan and you don't go to Jet games. My son ignores the cursing that goes on around us at the games because that is all it is "cursing". There are more important things to worry about than a few vulgar words at a sporting event.
Who is stopping you from bringing your kid to a game? Last I checked taking your kid to a football game wasn't a right anyway. No one is stopping you from taking your kid to a biker bar either.
Fuck when I was a kid, my father brought me to tons of jets games, and didn't complain one bit about cursing.. He fucking currses.
Technically speaking, you are correct. Attending football games was never mentioned in our Constitution.
Shocking. Try expanding your vocabulary. I get the occasional curse when something bad happens but there is a difference btw that and some drunk idiot cursing up a storm. I hate that the fans cannot get into the Stadium before kickoff I hate drunk fans that have to get up every 5 mins to either go to the bathroom or go buy another beer I hate the fans that are so busy drinking they have no idea what is going on I hate fans that start fights w/ other fans just b/c they are wearing a different color jersey(actually I hate fans that start fights period) I hate the fans that throw things W/ all this said we have had pretty well behaved fans since we became good about 12-13 years ago. When we were a laughing stock in the early to mid 90s the crowds were brutal. I have taken my now 5 year old son to many games and I have never had a problem w/ drunken, cursing idiots. I understand that we may run into that one day, my son(and eventually my daughter when she is old enough) will survive the poor behavior around them. I'll use it as a teaching moment telling them not to act like these morons.
