The worst aspect of the season is that it is boring. I'm just a fan and have been since 1966. I don't coach, or pick the players. If they listened to me they would probably be in worse shape. Heck, they show up on Sunday and usually give a good effort. I miss big games that mean something. Maybe next year.

Another bad aspect is that it's created a level of apathy in me for my love of the sport for the season.

I never made my picks in TGG pool or the Pig Skin Pickem Pool because I just couldn't be bothered/was uninterested.

My rooting interest has dropped to near zero.

Sucks and the World Series hasn't even started (which I care even less about).

this is happening more and more with me each year, I was actually mowing my lawn during the first half of Sunday's game..........never in my life would I consider doing that in the past.

I have an 8 year old son who's just now showing interest in sports in general, considered at the beginning of the season taking him to his first Jet game, I can't see myself bothering.

You should take him ! my parents hated sports and as I discovered it myself at age 11 I rooted hard for the Jets in 1995 and 96... they won 1 game in 96 but every week the game was all I looked forward to...

not sure I want to set him up for a lifetime of disappointment. He knows I like the Jets so he'll root for them, but at the level an 8 year old can understand, he seems to realize the pain they cause me, and seems to be leaning more Giants and Vikings ...because he likes their uniforms.......who am I to burden him the heavy weight of being a Jet fan ; )

further, he'll be crying when we are sitting in 3 hours of traffic to get home, and so will I.......

The worst part of this season is the total lack of hope for the future. If we were a losing team with promising young talent, I could handle 5-11 or even 1-15. I just don't see the core of talent to build a team around. I guess our D-Line is an elite unit but it really ends there.

I see a team with needs just about everywhere. Is there any player, just one player on our Offense who you'd be upset over losing? Right now, if I had to come up with a name it would be Amaro but that's mostly because the other guys are just that bad.

The rebuilding process doesn't begin until we have a decent QB and a non-lame duck HC.

I can't believe that Jacksonville Jaguars fans now have more hope than Jet fans.

    Who woulda thunk it?

No, Geno looks like a below average QB to me. He looks like Mark Sanchez minus the pizzazz at this point.

I have no clue if he'd look better if the offensive line play and receiving options were better. He's not making a huge number of mistakes, just enough to lose ball games. That's why the Jets have been in every game except the SD game.

An NFL QB has to be more than just "not the main problem". It's a demand of the position. An NFL QB has to be "the leader who picks up his teammates and helps them recover from their mistakes".

Every QB looks bad at one point or another. Even the best QB's have a bad game or two a season. You can't have a bunch of below average games with a few stinkers mixed in. That's where Geno has been his entire career. It's not fair but it is what it is.

I meant hard to bring down as you have to tackle him. You aren't showing pressure and he goes down. He will avoid that first wave. I think that rolls up into pocket presence.

nope - not a single one - which is just unbelievable - there cannot be another team in the NFL with so little talent on offense as the Jets - we don't have a single real talent at the skill positions - it is a disgrace in today's NFL not to have anyone or anything on offense when everything is biased towards that side of the game. I would gladly trade Wilkerson and Richardson for a really good QB.

Rex still doesn't know how to manage an offense. Rex still doesn't know how to manage the clock. Rex still doesn't know how to manage his sideline. In short, Rex is still not a real head coach.

For me, the hardest thing about this season isn't what's going on at Field level, but how we wound up at this point. I never believed 8-8 was a floor as IMO we were abnormally lucky in at least 2 of those wins. That the team saved Rex's job by winning the last 4 games didn't give me the warm and fuzzies either. I had this nagging feeling that it was all smoke and mirrors in 2013 and 2014 would be the year it all came out in the wash. What I didn't expect was the agenda and the motives. I knew Idzik had to keep Rex but I didn't think he'd rat hole $20mil to spend next season knowing full well Rex was only guaranteed for 2014. That just didn't pass the smell test for me and now that its apparent that Idzik is planning ahead (2015 and beyond), you have to wonder if Rex ever fit into that plan or was Rex here because of Woody. In addition, you have to ask why Woody only did a one year deal for Rex if indeed, Rex was part of the long term planning.

People say Idzik is a thoughtful, methodical man and so far, all of his actions speak to that. You can probably add Machiavellian to that descriptor as well. This season was always about 2015. It was always about the Post Rex Ryan Era. Now there are those that will howl with indignation about this post but yanno what? You can either believe what you're told or your lying eyes. The choice is yours to make.

The one upside after all of this is, 2015 and beyond becomes the John Idzik Era in full. They won't have Rex to kick around anymore nor will the circus be coming this way again any time soon. Thank God for small favors.

Well, the Jets are 1-5 on the merits this year. They've lost games to turnovers, to coaching errors, to bad play in other areas and to lack of discipline in the form of penalties and players who got kicked out of games. If Rex can turn things around he can turn things around but I don't think anybody is going to claim the Jets were well-coached this season so far. A few great defensive plans that kept things close but overall it has been a mess.

I'm hoping Rex turns it around and the team plays well the rest of the season.

Just to add one thing. I hope that the Jet management complained long and hard about this schedule when it came out. As they move in to week seven they have not played a division game and have faced most of the top QB's in the league. It was a recipe for failure especially with a young signal caller.

By pocket presence I meant having the awareness to use to your advantage. I assume by presence you mean he can stand up better than some other Qb's who are getting hit. That's not what I consider pocket presence, but I would concede pocket awareness is probably the better term to use for what I am talking about.
