    And Chris Baker.:breakdance:

We badly needed a linebacker like Scott, that's why he's a better fit than Lewis, who can be replaced by Harris. Barton was our only linebacker that could barely pass as a cover guy, but Scott should be much better.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out there captain obvious. I guess that means we should shut down the board and just all fall in line with all the decisions that they make. Or just limit all threads to "why I always agree with rex".

    Ahh Yes Hartwell
Another guy people thought was going to be so good.
Went to the Falcons and was a non-factor and is now out of football.
People need to understand that it is Ray Lewis who stirs the drink in Baltimore.
Coaches need great players to get recognized.
    Never Forget That

Barton blew chunks like trying to suck a bolwing ball thru a garden hose! Scott can teach the other guys the D. We didnt overpay as we had the cap room. This team has played soooooo soft for ever that, much like Rex has said, we need to change the culture. I can stand for a dismal offense for a few years if we have a hard hitting D keeping us in games.

He won't even see all $48 million!

In baseball...He'd see all 48 million.

I find it humorous that you are concerned with the salary cap when our GM is a Capologist...Not a talent evaluator to me, a Capologist.

It is 8 mil per year for 6 years he will be lucky to see 4 years & 32 mil. 8 mil per year is not overpaying for a guy who 1 will be the QB of your D. 2 Has 4 years straight with 100 tackles. 3 Never gets hurt & plays with heart unlike (Thomas). 4 Can cover a TE & RB something that killed us last year.

I could be wrong but I believe we were the only team besides Baltimore really interested in his services

If a guy can do all those things as well as you guys say, I think there would have been more teams looking to get him

Other teams would've paid for his services, but most certainly not $50 million.

This is what happens when someone watches Leonhard during the regular season and not just when he got lucky/hot during the 08 playoffs. And remember, this guy played 3 years for the Bills, a division rival, and most Jet fans didn't know he was alive.

I didn't know you were such an expert of what coaches will be good head coaches. Sour grapes from the beginning. My guess is that if we had gotten Lewis, you would be telling us how he isn't the player he used to be.

Geez, give the guy a chance before already saying it is a bad move.

Has he played a down for the Jets yet?

Its hard for me to believe that Rex would put his career on the line for a player who cannot bring to the table that which will enable him as a head coach to be successful. owners are not playing te "Bill Cowher" game. their getting rid of guys quickly, therefore i beleive Rex knows how talented Scott is.

That's simply not true. Before the off-season began, we were hoping to retain Suggs, Brown and Lewis; Sizzle has been franchise, Brown is gone and Ray is probably returning. Leonhard and Scott would've been nice, but they're replaceable and luxuries.

Thus far we've been pretty fortunate because Scott, Rex and Pettine have been expected to depart for awhile now. A quarterback coach like Hue Jackson is invaluable to us right now, and we dodged a bullet as he didn't get an OC job.
