The Jets need a fire lit under their asses... especially when we're about to play three crappy teams in a row. By placing Clemens in there, the Jets D may come alive, because they know that they were partially to blame for Chad's benching. But by leaving Chad in there, nothing changes. If Chad were the coach, that's what he would do.
Regardless of Chad's feeling, we have to play to win. In 2001 we had the same record, and Chad was the one replacing Vinny. Start Clemens to give us a push, or at least some kind of hope. See what the kids got. So far, Chad's ball has been fluttering in the air that any one could pick it off. Just read what Pierce had to say about it in Newsday. The other major problem, is that he just DOESN"T throw down field ever. How can we rush or do anything. Don't get me wrong, I am still a big fan of chad's, but it's not working. One day he'll be a great QB coach, but that's it for now. Another problem is that we are playing super conservative on Offenser, until we get behind. What's up with this crap. Ugh, the one year I buy season tickets.
I agree with most of what you say, except for the conservative play part. Everything would work -- even with our terrible defense -- if it weren't for the stupid interceptions. Many of Chad's passes have been right into coverage. It's like he's throwing to the pass routes, regardless of whether a defender is sitting there waiting for the pass or not. For some reason, Chad refuses to look away and just throws it into coverage.
Chad not playing doesn't mean they'll win, just as Chad playing doesn't mean that they'll lose. The two are not mutually exclusive. Of course, you wouldn't know that around here.
i dont know about everyone else, but I have no idea what this poll even means....could be the reason for "conflict"
This poll makes a huge huge huge leap here. Chad is no longer a winning QB. In the last year his arm has completely died. It is too bad as he had many of the intangibles a QB requires. However it is the tangible parts that make him unable to perform at an NFL level. So I would like the Jets to win but I do not think it is possible with Chad any longer. KC please. Besides if the Jets are going to have a high draft pick, which looks completely possible, then it is of paramount importance to see what KC is made of.
stop the stupid threads. people who want chad as the QB believe he gives us a better option to win. It's not because they don't want us to win.
Who knows?..I'll worry about that later. Of course the last time we had it we took a WR who wrote a book so I should be careful what I wish for. Mangini would probably take a safety.
The Jets are practically undefeated when Chad plays, so I don't see any difference between those two options...
