In a heartbeat. But if he wasn't starting over Jenkins by week 4 I'd call him a bust.

    Haha ditto.

I just think that position is so important that you need two guys of starting quality, much like you need at the DE spot, only the NT's aren't playing at the same time. You have to pay them both like starters, but it's worth it (because of injury and fatigue) if the Defense hinges on one position.

Two guards lost a step on Jenkins, (how often does that happen? their line really sucks.) which instantly resulted in the Cards C immediately driven all the way back to Warner's nose.

If we had two really great NT players then isn't it possible for us to switch to 4-3 every so often and just dominate the shit out of their line? An
Ellis - Jenkins - New NT - Gholston line would be unstoppable.

Good call on the Smith pick. Jenk had his hands up, disrupting Warner.
As far as a #23 pick, I say no. There are a handful of NT prospects this draft.
Not sure any are worthy first rd.

Even though I was happy the Jets took Gholston (and still am happy, I think he'll come around), I wouldn't have objected to them taking Sedrick Ellis. The draft experts were up and down on him, but I see he's been doing well with the Saints, and NT is the key to this defense--you've got to get an effective back-up. It's a long, long season for a guy Jenkins size to take all that punishment.

Ellis is not and will never be a 3-4 NT.

He would have been DRob the Second here.
