Yep. Last off season: "Everybody wants to play for Rex! Who wouldn't? He speaks his mind and tells it like it is! He makes it fun!" This off season: "Players go where they get the most money, not because of some coach! And nobody is turned off by what happened with the Jets last season! That sort of thing does not figure in player decisions!" What a difference a year makes.
NO one wants to play for REX. They go where the money is. Why do you think the Jets did not same Namdae. Because it is a business. Rex is a joke as a coach and is full of hot air. He tried to be friends with the guys. He wanted to be the fat funny tough guy but he proved to be weak and his locker room is a circus.
I believe this is where the original sentiment came from: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/fee...layer-poll-ryan-tomlin-voted-favorite-coaches
Last year players voted who they most like to play for, and Rex won. Everyone took that as players will take more less money to play for Rex. This is taking the statement incorrectly. If money, playing time, location, chance at winning, teammates, etc were equal for 32 teams across the league, we might see more people choose teams based on coaches, but there are so many more important variables that is ridiculous to think players decided to play here only because of Rex or decided not play here only because of Rex.
yeah he's so weak he only got to 2 straight AFCCGs in his first 2 seasons as a head coach... ur fucking weak GTFOH
Then why is it so hard, if not for perception, for Miami to sign big name FA's. Florida has no state income tax and for millionaires, they make out like bandits. Texas also has no state income tax, but folks don't seem to mind going to Dallas even having to put up with Jones.
I think he would be top 3 if not #1 still. If it was based on chance of winning also probably not, but I think the poll was purely coach you want to play for and not anything else. I don't understand the point your making Cman55. Are you saying because of what I said that teams would go to Miami? I'm missing something here. To clarify, if everything was equal for all 32 teams except coaches, then who would you want to play for would matter. But where contracts aren't guaranteed, I think there a lot of variables before coach comes into play. Someone in the odd situation like Manning can fall on coaches, but most players who aren't guaranteed a huge contract or have had a huge payday in the past, I don't see them coming here just for Rex. I also don't see them not coming here just because of Rex. I think a lot more plays into it and people read into the poll too much when it came out last year.
I was coming at it from the perception pov. Players, given the choice of playing in two states with almost identical state income law usually choose Dallas over Miami. You have to think perception is a lot of it. Players see Miami as in flux and pretty much irrelevant until their organizational problems are ironed out. Dallas OTOH, has a brand new stadium, no state income tax just like Florida, but has a meddlesome owner in Jerry Jones but yet, players take his money instead. Its hard to argue that the Jets have a perception problem in the NFL world and its not all media created.
Oh okay, and yes good points. It certainly won't help that the media is portraying the Jets as an in flux franchise that is classless. Although I'm sure if it came down to it, the players are connected and they would be honest to each other about the lockerroom and situation surrounding the team if asked
I'm not sure what part of your post makes you seem like a bigger idiot, your constant spelling and grammar mistakes, or your "point".
That's so true, and sadly I think Sanchez will get benched and then Tebow will drive us straight into the ground. Tebow can't run an ordinary offense, Sanchez is the best chance to get to the SB.
+1. It's easy to see the Jets doing something foolish like trading Sanchez, our 1st and 2nd rounders to take the Vikes' 1st and end the QB controversy before it happens.
So you think they may trade up for Ryan Tannnehills? Who do you think would want Sanchez??? What would he be worth?
This team's future completely hinges on what they do in the draft(s) anyway, so I don't really care to rebuttal. If we can't sign FAs anymore because Manish Mehta's sources tell him everyone hates each other, there are other ways to acquire talent.
