He's an elite talent. Unfortunately the Jets would have to give up so much to move into the top 5. It's just not the right time to do that in my opinion.
It means that if Watkins surprisingly fell they might consider it, but mostly that Watkins is probably too much of a dumbass to understand when Rex is being facetious. Or Watkins was being facetious and Brian Costello thought "hey, I bet I'll get a lot of twitter followers if I act like it was a serious comment." EDIT: I meant Bart Hubbuch not Brian Costello.
if the Jets trade up to get anyone, they will get Mevis II. The Jets should be very careful about that. These kids coming out who have potential KNOW they will get top dollar. Or at least try to anyway. Trade down, get some later round picks for players who actually might want to play and EARN their payday later on in their career. Thankfully I ain`t in charge because if I was the Jets would only have 7th. round draft choices competing to make the team. LOL
If we trade up and get a guy as good as Darrelle Revis, I'll sign up for it 10 times out of 10. Not a big fan of your "Stock up on 7th round picks" plan either! If the Jets trade up and we get a player that's good enough to be demanding a big contract, then they did well.
I hate the strategy of trading down and down for 5th 6th and 7th rounders. As much as I loved Parcells as a coach, his draft strategy of picking up multiple low round picks still ticks me off. Steve Rosga, JJ Syvrud, Marc Megna, Eric Obogu, Tim Scharf, Dustin Johnson, Chris Brazzel, a bunch of crap with multiple low round picks. _
There was this big buxom blonde maniacal chick that used to sit behind me at the old stadium who LOVED Burton and she'd scream "SHHHAAAAAANNNNNNEEEEEE" incessantly during games. Parcells didn't draft him, though. _
You could be right, but I genuinely feel like getting a very good wide receiver would help the team more long-term than getting an equally good OT. If the Jets get a very good wideout, or Ebron, that'll translate into more yardage, more TDs, and more wins. The running game would be helped since it would make it riskier to stack the box, and leave dangerous targets in single coverage. It'll also help us determine whether Smith is a viable QB or not. A great OT would help the team, for sure, but I feel like you need weapons in order to take advantage of a good o-line.
She would nurse and I would nurse and we would nurse together, oh we'd have one hell of a time, sucking one another! - Rudy Ray Moore (1927 - 2008) ….slightly burned out, waiting for the draft….
we had a guy as good as Revis already. His name was Revis. He proved to be a douchebag and the Jets didn`t need him to win, as they proved. Players like him will have a lot of money but crappy careers. It`s fine if you don`t like my idea of 7th. rounders. I`m not in charge so it ain`t gonna happen. Hence the "LOL" at the end. Are you Sheldon Cooper by any chance? Because you don`t seem to get sarcasm very well. !!!!
championship aren`t won with CBs. They`re won as players playing as a team, not the selfishness of players actually diminishing the hopes of team players(their greed affects the entire team and players who are good are overlooked because there ain`t no money for them). You can call Revis whatever you want. He`ll end up like Marino. No rings. Then again, he can simply purchase a SB ring on eBay if he truly wants one. He`s injury prone now and we`ll see just how good he may still be. He didn nothing for the Jets(no SB, no AFC East title, nothing really). He did absolutely nothing in TB. He`ll probably do nothing in NE imo as well.
With all the talk about how deep this draft is it appears it isn't deep enough if even half the rumors about teams wanting to trade up are true. If the Jets really want a WR then there are only 4 legitimate targets, Evans, Beckham, Cooks and lee. If two or three of them come off early that is when I see the Jets making a move to trade up.
I'm not liking all this Beckham love I'm hearing in regards to the Jets. This kid isn't worth passing on Cooks or others for and he sure as hell isn't worthy of a trade up! I know there are a lot of smoke screens at this point but I don't want this kid with our 1st pick.
I didn't know that was a former Jet... That tagline was terrible though. Click clack? Click clack?! My opinion of UA was a collective "pfft" for a while there, mostly because of that really bad marketing. I thought they'd be crushed under the weight of Nike and other established companies. I was thoroughly wrong.
