Trade a player that is still considered a good player and has value for a player that is playing arguably the worst at his position, is getting paid like he is the best, and nobody is likely falling over themselves to get him? If that truly sounds good to you, I'll trade you this wrinkly $5 bill for $1000 dollars in crisp hundreds. Deal?
did I bang your wife or something? otherwise hard to understand your disdain for me, especially considering we barely interact.
I view your terrible threads from afar. And you act self righteous about them. Maybe it's that I remember you from the old days and wish you didn't suck so much, because it kind of ruins the nostalgia. Whatever it is, it's probably in all of our best interests for you to stop sucking.
you want to trade Sheldon for Kap? And I get heat for backing Petty but some want to trade Sheldon for Kap WOW
Here's an idea!!!! Let's send Kerley and arguably our best player to one of the worst teams in the NFL for a guy they are about to bench. Lol awesome.
It's not the worst idea in the world. The one thing that plagues Kaepernick is how mentally weak he is when things aren't going well. There have been a couple of analysts that have said when he doesn't play well he goes into a shell and is somewhat unapproachable during the week. That's a terrible quality to have as a quarterback. With that being said, he desperately needs a change of scenery. That franchise is a mess and likewise needs a restart. The problem is that it's so incredibly hard to bring a quarterback in midseason. I cited the example in a previous thread, but it took Cassel a month to have a firm grasp on the offense in Dallas after being brought in and he looks like absolute dog shit (granted he's not very good). There's so many factors in terms of getting on the same page as receivers, knowing the plays, knowing the shifts, knowing the protections. It's the hardest position in sports and one of the only one's where your mind needs to work faster than anyone else on the field, while still being able to physically react in sync with your mind. I'd go get Kaepernick without having to trade Richardson. The most interesting thing about Kaepernick is the fact that his cap number is reasonable in comparison to other quarterbacks like Tannehill, Alex Smith, etc. It wouldn't be cap crippling and he has such a low risk if we get him for cheap because his deal is very incentive laden, and he can be cut without a big hit.
Turk got it at least half right. Swap Kaep for RGIII and things could get interesting. First, no need to trade players. A simple 4th or 5th cond pick would do it. Face it, when RG3 came out this ENTIRE board would have sold their mama for a shot at him (see Winston/Mariota threads). Can Chan work with a spread option QB (one of the best)? Would Ivory thrive in that scheme? No one knows. But if the answer is even 'maybe', we almost HAVE to do it. We could get RG3 for a little under $2M for the balance of the season. Enough time to decide if he has a future here. Like we did with Harvin minus the big bucks. If Macc isn't working 24/7 to get this done by 4pm today, he should be fired.
Did the MRI results get posted? Can Fitz grip a football? How long until he can grip a football? The former questions are important factoring into the QB equation. I imagine if Fitz is out 4+ games, the Jets will have a longer term solution on the roster by 4 today. The next 4 games are schedule padders and the Jets cannot afford to throw the games away. If Fitz is out only 2 weeks, I imagine the team will try to get by with Petty or Geno.
Benched for Blaine FREAKING Gabbert! Oh how the "mighty" have fallen, or is that whole organization really that big of a dumpster fire? btw, I'd take Geno over Blaine Gabbert........ and I think Geno sucks.
You can't trade for RGIII because of his albatross of a contract. However, when he gets cut, we should be first in line.
This gives me hope. Whenever Dumb Don guarantees something, you can always depend on the opposite happening.
you don't be stupid enough to trade a fuckin Sheldon Richardson or a Kerley for the guy but Cimini had a good point about Kaepernick and his contract today. Its team friendly as this is the only year its guaranteed. The Jets could make a move for him and have him on essentially a "trial" for the rest of the season. He sucks balls? they cut him on April 1st and they aren't out anything. He doesn't suck balls and you have a guy to think about long term/restructure. In that case I wouldn't mind throwing a late round draft pick for the guy and see what happens. Hell he's gotta be better than Geno Smith and a Ryan Fitzpatrick who can't even masterbate right now let alone play a football game.
