and If people said Tom Brady wasn't going to amount to anything the same thing would apply. What point are you making? Thats a 1 in a million shot. Sure take one but you're banking on Hundley being a franchise QB? Ok buddy.

Not a Hundley fan but why can't he bank on that? Just because a lot of NFL teams and draft pundits don't rate him that high? Those same people get it wrong all the time, just because mock drafts say something doesn't mean they are right

Ok sure. Everyone is allowed to have their dark horse.

He's not a dark horse. He's projecting as a 2nd round pick and largely considered one of the top 3 prospects of the QB class this year. Every recent ranking I could find had him in the top 4 with most of them putting him at 3 and he's trending upwards. Dark horses I like are Jake Waters and Taylor Kelly.

Idc where he is projected. It's all relevant to the QB class. He's not a dark horse of his QB class of 2015. He's a dark horse to be the best quarterback in this draft, let alone a franchise QB. Both of which you believe him to be.

How is someone ranked in the top 3 of his position a dark horse to end up the best player at that position? He's not a dark horse, he's a plausible candidate.

This class is weak as hell. Weakest QB class in a while.

It is a weak class but I'd rather have Hundley than Bortles or Manziel for sure.

    Nope, only partly right.

The two at the top are stellar prospects, legit potential franchise QBs.

The rest of the class is extremely weak.

But NO class was as weak as 2013.

    Awful.

    EJ Manuel
    Geno
    Mike Glennon
    Matt Barkley
    Ryan Nassib
    Tyler Wilson
    Landry Jones
    Brad Sorenson
    Zac Dysert
    BJ Daniels
    Sean Renfree
    Tyler Bray

    Awful.

    Stokes

What are the major differences between Mariota and Hundley in your opinion? If we miss out on Mariota, do you think we should pick Hundley with our second?

Mariota is smarter, more accurate, more athletic (although Hundley is extremely athletic), has a much more compact, quicker release, is more polished and a more decisive thrower.

Not a huge fan of Hundley, but I'd take him over Geno. If Mariota is a year away, Hundley is 2 years and I don't think he has as high a ceiling as MM. Lower floor too.

The guy I'd take a flyer on (and I'm not a flyer guy) is Petty. I didn't love him during the year but his Bowl game was off the charts.

No way in hell do I take Hundley over Geno. If Hundley is in the league in 3 years, I'll be shocked. Geno at least makes for a decent backup.

Hundley should've came out last year, he would've been a mid to high 1st rounder.

He's suffering from the same thing Bridgewater suffered from last year-- over analysis.

Sometimes the longer you have to look at a QB the more flaws you pick out. Which is unfair because they all have flaws and sometimes you should just trust the bigger picture/ their whole resume

I've never looked at Hundley like I looked at Teddy. Teddy was so much more in command of his offense at Louisville, he knew everything that was going on and where his people were.

Hundley looked very robotic to me, everything prewired and not fluid, not second nature to him. Big strong kid with a big arm, not a natural QB to me.

I've had a hard time finding the right words to describe Hundley's game but you nailed it. His "robotic" nature is in part why he gets sacked as such an insanely rate. If you disrupt him and take away his initial read his programming gets corrupt and he starts clocking.

I can see why people like Mariota better but how in the hell can Jameis - inferior athlete, poorer decision maker, huge character issues - be considered a top 5 pick while Hundley doesn't deserve a 2nd rounder?? I would love to hear this.

Leadership, command, pinpoint accuracy, throwing open receivers, ability to accurately diagnose opposing defenses, and control safeties with his eyes.

Since when does a 66% cmp and 28 interceptions in 27 career games qualify as pinpoint accuracy?? He's a great natural thrower but he makes just as many poor throws because he's arrogant. He should have been demolishing the ACC not having to come from behind every game, he's gonna get smacked in the NFL.

It's a team game, and his college team will not equal his pro team. You evaluate college talent not by their production, but by their skill set and talent. That is why Winston is the consensus 1. His abilities are tantalizing. He is not a perfect prospect: the interceptions are very concerning. Despite that, his ability is superior to the rest.

Once he gets in the NFL, his college days will not matter anymore. The NFL coaches will take what he has and try to coach the most they can get out of that. Winston will require less work to be field ready than anyone else in this draft.
