He's 49, but you're right, he does look older.

The only times we've beaten good teams, we got the games handed to us by the really dumb QB play of Romo and Rivers. Every other good team, Denver not withstanding, has absolutely smoked our asses. I mean Ryan hasn't had this team ready to play against better competition all season long.

Maybe Ryan and the Jets need to talk even MORE so that teams will simply fold before kickoff and we win by default.

I personally have a problem with this argument. How do you know he doesn't prepare the team? The defense played pretty good, and the only big play they gave up in the first half was due to 2 missed tackles. The offense started off good but players missed throws, committed penalties, and were not ready for passes.

I wouldn't fault Rex for that. Also, a note to make is that he effectively managed the clock, called challenges, and we did not have any wasted timeouts if I remember correctly. And, we were not rushing defensive packages onto the field or called for 12 men on the field. Those mistakes I can put squarely on Ryan, the rest I am not sure since I do not know what plays he calls.

He's too soft. If he were his dad, he'd have walked across the field and punched Gilbride right in the face.

As far as ppl saying Rex has no clue about offenses, that's completely wrong. Rex spends hours figuring out what the 'other teams' offensive strenghts/weaknesses are and game plans our defensive game plan accordingly.

Trust me, Rex knows his advisaries. Rex understands his enemies. Rex knows offenses. After all, he was hired to figure them out and crush them.

Rex probably knows more about offenses than most offensive coordinators, even one who works in NJ.

No, the prob aint 'Rex don't know squat shit about offense'. The problem is Rex is too quick to let his coordinators 'coordinate', even if they're 'coordinating' a disaster.

    (1) Loyal to a fault: its one thing to be a players coach, and to be loyal to your coworkers, but come on, there has to be accountability, and he has to be the one to provide it.

    (2) The trash talking. I don't know that it actually effects the teams performance any (maybe it does, maybe it doesn't). But at the very least, it is really annoying to hear him boast about what a great team he has, and be consistently unable to back it up. It was funny when he was winning; it isn't funny any more.

Do I disagree with some of what Rex says? Yes.
Do I see Rex's success predictions as a detriment? Yes.

However, as a Jets fan, I see Rex's loud mouth as a positive. I enjoy the fact that the media (most applicable to the national media and EShitPN) puts focus on what Rex says as opposed to players' mistakes.

He is like the "awesome" dad that wants to be best friends with their teenaged kids instead of a parent. The one that lets everyone drink alcohol at his house as long as they agree not to drive. The one whose teenage son has a girl pregnant at 15.

Rex' act is barely tolerable when we're winning. When this team collapses as its done this season, his act gets old in a hurry.

Thing everyone must remember is Rex has just completed his third year. If you take in to account the lockout, really his second year. He is still a rookie but I believe he is learning fast, in spite of the way it may look.

Although he may appear to be some kind of buffoon, Rex is one of the most intelligent coaches in the NFL. I am also certain above all else Rex wants to be a winner and will make the changes needed to be successful in the NFL.

In the end Rex's need to be a winner will make him lose or eliminate those traits that will hold him back. In some way I see him getting more like Parcells, becoming more of a hard ass and demanding his way or the highway. An lest ye forget, Parcells was also loyal to a fault , the difference was if you did not produce you were gone. If you fucked up too many times, you were gone.

I am sure Rex will admit somewhere along the way that he has made mistakes in both his personal decisions and his management decisions. It has been a learning experience for him as well. I think this off season will be a critical test as to wether he is learning his lesson or will just be to stubborn to change.

I don't want to see the Jets make the same mistake that Clevland made, when they gave up on Belchick to soon, and lost one of the best head coaches in the game... So my money is on Rex working thru it and bringing that long sort after prize to the NY Jets we have all waited for for so long....

    An always remember
Those who laugh last , can tell everyone else to go fuck themselves !!!

ive said it in a thread many months ago......Namath will be the noose around Rex's neck...Namath is clearly through with RR's act,, and his words are getting more harsh and critical. When Rex crosses the line and tells namath to f*ck off,,,,,,it is over. he will be dismissed by long time fans and likely woody.

The honeymoon is slowly coming to an end I see. I like Rex but the talent overall isn't there this season. Lots of changes need to be made in the offseason.

    His cardinal sin?

Not punching Schottenheimer in the mouth during today's game (and after each of Holmes's fuck-up during 1st quarter last week, just to name the recent ones.)

you pretty much proved my point...players missed throws, committed penalties, and were not ready for passes. Sure, it happens in games but the Jets play sloppy which usually indicates that they practice sloppy. Team is more like the Norv's Chargers, play on emotion but easy to distract.

Rex's main problem is his vision. He sees his players as much better than they actually are. His secondary problem is his mouth. He tells the world what he sees without filtering at all. His third problem is his management who have conspired royally to fuck him this year by handing him an average team with a mandate to go win a Super Bowl.

You people are retarded. Trash talking the man who has brought us to more playoff games then any other HC in Jet's history. Seriously the asshole who said he can't coach because he's fat and lazy, why don't you jump ship to the dolfags we don't need you lowering all of our collective IQ, we don't need so-called fans like you. Yeah it's been a bad couple games, shit happens and we'll recoup for next year. Some of you are just the worst fans ever.
