That is a very interesting thought. I know he was on the Pats practice squad for a year or two, but I haven't followed the Browns enough this year to see how he has been doing. Definitely someone we should at least consider. Good thought....

Lets just shift Chad to NT since he lost the QB job, no reason why we should waste such a good character on the bench

AGREED. I'd want us to grab haynsworth and suggs, and a corner. i know im beating a dead horse here, but id rather deangelo hall over asante samuel. With those three players in addition to who we have now, i think u got a nice start to something scary on defense. Something the jets aint have in almost five years. OH YEA AND FIRE SUTTON. AND BRING A QUALITY D COORDINATOR. Damn i wish Henderson ran a 3-4

We would never get him b/c he will 100% be franchise tagged. If for some reason he wasnt then this is absolutely the first guy we need to go after. Almost all of our problems this season stem from the D-line.

I hope you are joking in this thread. Should we also try to go after Champ Bailey and maybe even Deion Sanders to be our cornerbacks? Have you even been watching the Jets games this year? There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to go after a corner. It makes no difference who your corners are if the d line cant rush the passer or stop the run.

We are rebuilding! There will be no Big F/A signings until at least 2009! This is not baseball you can't buy a team in a year!

You can't rebuild strictly through the draft.... You need to bring in some veterans for immediate on-the-field contributions along with their leadership contributions....

If you think we can continue to make plays in the offseasons for marginal guys like Barlow, Kimo, and Kenyon Coleman, and get back to contention EVER, you're crazy....

I wouldn't call Coleman "high" reward. He has been decent. That means "not worth the money." Albert Haynesworth is a head stomping maniac. Now that might work.

Ok obviously the dline comes first. That's why I started this thread to discuss albert haynsworth or any other dlinemen that could work with our scheme. But why not take a chance on a star corner while we're at it. Dyson looks about as horrible as I've ever seen him and he is supposed to be our veteran starting corner? I mean even in 05 when we sucked big monkey balls, we had a top five secondary thanks to Henderson. but that goes without sayin that we need to fix the dline first. I'm just tired of having to say it over and over again. If i could have it my way id grab haynsworth cuz he'd def add some intensity, bring in suggs and hall (or asante) move vilma to outside linebacker, impeach bush, legalize weed, and have lots of sex with eva mendez....

He is a DOG!!! He's playing well right now because this is his walk season. Before this season, he was no where close to being this dominant.

I think once he gets the big contract, it will be business as usual with him i.e. being a DOG!

    D. Hall IS NOT a shutdown corner! He's a 21 wannabe and he's a MOUTH. He gets burned nearly every game yet keeps talking sh**t. I guess he gets pro bowl votes cause he went to VA tech, and has speed.

I have to agree with you there. Deangelo Hall is like a more talented version of Justin Miller, but with the extra talent you also have more headaches because he's just as much of a punk but with a larger ego.

I'll invite him over for tea, just so he can stomp my head in my very own living room. I'll take some cleats with my lumps, thanks. That's what I call hospitality!

yes, so the question becomes, are you willing to put up with his antics for his talent?

    i really doubt Mangini is.

if the front 7 and pass rush improve, Hall becomes less of a necessity and we don't even need his risk.

with Revis and Rhodes in the Secondary, we can relax and find another good CB as long as we generate some pressure.

After seeing Tennessee' D become extremely ordinary without him I would say there is ZERO chance he gets to FA.

Not only is Wilfork listed at 325, but so is Casey Hampton of Pittsburgh.

Hampton I belive is closer to his listed weight then Wilfork and still a good 3-4 NT.

Its not all about size, thee is also technique and over all skill that goes into being a NT. IMO D-Rob is not sheding blockers to make plays and not occuping enough space, somewhat because of his size, but also due to poor proformance. Not to mention poor scheming by Sutton.

After watching the Pitt Cleveland game yesterday (both run a 3-4) I came away with the feeling that not only do we have missplaced personal, but we suck at disguiseing the pressure. Both of them use a lot more Stunts, both with linemen and line backers, as well as more overloads on passing downs.

I really have a hard time blaming the players when I see what can be done in a 3-4 with the right play calling. It was fun to watch.

Yes, size is key, but not everything. Could haynsworth be a 3-4 NT? I have no idea. Will we take a shot at him? I seriously have my doubts.

he is a good player, and he will be a year older, maybe he wont have discipline issues.
