I watched it, you can't really see anything except the fireball as it crashes. you can't even see a plane in the video.
very very sad, but as 3rdand15Draw said, i dont know what he was doing up there. plan enthusiast or not, there are risks you take when doing these things. regardless though, death is never good. so RIP.
truly sad news...happened to be listening to mike and dog when mike reported that the plane was in coreys name...and like 5 seconds later they announced it was lidle on plane..dead silence for like 5 seconds..just shocked. rip corey. Would love for professional sports to give a stat of how many players are pilots or learning over the years. I mean...unless there are like 100's pilot/players/celebs etc...this just happens way too often..unless there is bunch of celebs that do fly...its crazy.
apparently he was with his instructor, so all you criticizing the guy post mortem for not being an expert can save it...jeez..accidents happen, sadly, sometimes fatal accidents RIP....and prayers to his family
i heard this last night when i was out with friends. we heard it on the radio and my friends who are mets fans were laughing in my face.i don't see how any sort of rivalary or homerism can come into play when a mans life is lost.
I cant understand how disgusting people can be. When I go on Facebook I find all of these groups mocking the whole situation and insulting him. After reporting all of them I posted this note: Just for the record, anyone of you who created or joined a group mocking this tragedy just because you hate the Yankees, you're PATHETIC. And I only say you're just pathetic because I can't find a word inthe English language that suits you better. If you can't disinguish sports from real life, it's sad. A man lost his life, and all you care about is your petty baseball biases. A women lost her husband, a young child his father, many people their friend... and you mock him as a terrorist, or say you wish it was Jeter instead, or it was A-Rod's fault, or it was what he deserved for bad mouthing the Phillies, etc. Well F*ck you maggot scum. You may be human, but you don't deserve the title of a person in my opinion. My thoughts and prayers are with the Lidle family. R.I.P. Cory.
Hear, hear man. What a bunch of douchebags. I am glad, with the exception of one, all the Mets fans here were human beings about this. It's not like he got his nose broken on a baseball field, he was taken from this world in the prime of his life. I commend you for posting that man. To you!
I don't understand why anyone would make fun of the Lidle thing because he played for the Yankees. He wasn't really a Yankee. He stopped off there for a few months as a throw-in to the Abreu trade. He wasn't coming back next season. As far as I am concerned, Lidle was a MLB player. He bounced around from team to team. All of MLB and its fans should be saddened by his passing. He was outspoken and sometimes said some uncomplimentary things, but he was a good guy, and he leaves behind a wife and a 6 year old. Horrible.
Not to be forgotten in all this is the other man in the plane, Lidle's instructor Tyler Stanger. RIP to both, and my thoughts are with the families.
Neither can I. It's what makes it so stupid. People say shit like, "this is more proof God hates the Yankees", or "Lidle gets owned", etc. It's sick.
Very good point man. We shouldn't forget that there was another casualty there. RIP to him as well. As far as people laughing at Lidle because he was a Yankee, what's the difference? If it was a career Yankee, would it then be okay? I'll say this. I despise David Ortiz more than any other baseball player, with the only exception being Barry Bonds. However, if either was to die in an accident, I would be very upset at the loss of life. At that point, there's no team to root against. On the field is one thing, real life is a whole different story.
Actually though, that is kind of wierd. A plane crashes into a Manhattan building on that particular day? Wow, that is just wierd.
