I hated you Lidle because your actions during the Philadelphia breakup were prick worthy, but it's still terrible when someone dies like this. RIP Cory Lidle and the other members that died during the plane crash.
i made a little something on myspace for lidle.. i used that little graphic someone made in this thread, hope you dont mind, so song goes with the theme. RIP LIDLE http://profile.myspace.com/index.cf...&MyToken=72664264-a035-4676-89f3-8311ea9bc8a4
Lidle's father found out about the crash on TV. I can't even imagine how horrible that must have been. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2622099
That's devastating. I know most Yankee fans didn't have the connection to Lidle that they would have with many other admired athletes, but this just isn't right?
I am so messed up about this. I know it sounds wierd, but I just feel somehow like I lost a friend. It's crazy how in an instant, everything in life can change. God Bless his wife and daughter. Rest In Peace Cory.
gehrig38 Just wanted to post a quick letter of prayer for the Lidle's, and the yankee family. My families thoughts and prayers are with everyone touched by Cory and his wife Melanie and their son today.
I remember hearing today his wife was on a flight to CA and depending on what time she left sh emight not have known either, and this article sums it up, she doesn't. This is why they don't want to release the names yet
That was a very classy thing to do. It's amazing how animosity is so easily set aside in times of tragedy. I used to dislike Shilling a lot, but this really improves his image to me. I'm still in shock though. My wife called me to see if I had heard, and I just couldn't talk. I hope the Yankees wear the black armbands this year for him.
Man what a shame. I still for the life of me can't figure out why anyone needs to fly a plane like that. There are just to many tragic stories, I would think the risk would far outweigh the rewards.. Sad news though, just really sad for his family..
I went on a flight like this with my aunts boyfriend a few years ago. We took off in a small plane and flew over the statue of liberty and over the hudson river before circling back home. Just looking back on that is scarry enough because I can now see just how wrong that could go.
Ehh. I always think about that, but there really is a greater chance of hurting yourself in you car than there is in a plane like that. He was hardcore enough to actually have a license and even have an instructor next to him even though he had his necessary hours. He's taken his family up with him, friends, etc. Really strange.
Ok, thats what I thought. I went to a guy for a back injury in the hospital for special surgury and I always went into that building before or after appointments to pick up lunch at the deli.
My heart goes out to him and his family. Just from a number of interviews i have read and heard about him, he seemed like a really down to earth guy with a great sense of humor. I remember when he was traded here, he had a great sense of humor about him being "the other guy" in the trade. He had great passion and this news is terrible. Theres not much to say in a time like this, but i hope he is remembered not just in New York or Philadelphia, but around the world. It makes you think how delicate life really is. May he rest in peace.
the really wierd thing about it is that reporters were saying they were talking to lidle about flying a few days ago and he brought up what happened to kennedy and munson.... thats just eerie this is a true tradgedy....my heart goes out to his family and the family of the other fatality
