I agree, I don't get why somebody with everything to live for would take the chance. Fucking sad, either way.
Bloomberg on WFAN says 2 dead nobody in apartment and nobody on ground, 2 people aboard plane but will not confirm dead until next of kin are notified. Says a flight instructor and student on board. English reporter asked if it was Lidle and Bloomberg punked her.
I dont understand how planes are still allowed anywhere near the city. They should not allow them within about 5 miles of the city
Oh and hats off to NYFD as fire is out and people are being allowed back into apartment. Plane took off from Teterboro and circled Statue of Liberty and then up East River. Lost radar after 59th street bridge.
Not to be an ass or anything but aren't most airports in cities, unless you're talking about non-commercial flights then yea I'd agree for the most part. RIP Mr. Lidle.
yes, i meant non-commercial flights obviosly, jets from LaGuardia & JFK are going to have to fly near the city
he's a known airplane enthusiast. I don't know if anyone mentioned it because I just got home, but he's been flying his private plane for years. Very sad story.
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/08/s...44c30a4f4&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss In Lidle Yankees have Extra Pitcher and backup pilot. Article talks about how he bought a 4-seater some time ago. Also, Arthur Rhodes fired back at Lidle after Lidle's comments about the Phillies by referring to ice cream, airplanes, and gambling.
"The whole plane has a parachute on it,” Lidle said. “Ninety-nine percent of pilots that go up never have engine failure, and the 1 percent that do usually land it. But if you’re up in the air and something goes wrong, you pull that parachute, and the whole plane goes down slowly.” TAKE TIME TO READ THAT ARTICLE POSTED ABOVE... please
Not that it means anything, but every clip of Lidle that was shown by SNY was of him getting knocked around by the Devil Rays. What's up with that?
Yes there is a law about Planes near Manhattan. But as i heard in the News it only applied on Commercial Planes. Private Planes along with Helis were allowed for some reasons i dont know. News and Police Helis should be the only flying craft that should be allowed.
my dad just brought up a crazy point... If the Yankees had beat the Tigers, Corey Lidle wouldn't have been in that plane
