Hes not a practice squadder, he was a fourth or fifth rounder for the panthers two years ago out of Virginia Tech, started a couple games for them and was eventually released and picked up by the jets. He saw a lot of playing time last year, as much or more than Adrien Clarke down the stretch. This despite the fact that he played his entire collegiate career at center for VT. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave Brandon Moore a run for his money for the starting right guard job.

And if his number went to Faneca and Montgomery is still on the roster (and Im certain that he is), its not a question of the Jets disrespecting him, either Faneca bought it from Montgomery or Montgomery gave it to him. Number swapping is handled between players.

 

I have Justin Mccariens jersey so Will Montgomery is looking good. Before that it was Farrior who left one year later, Byrd who got injured that same year and Shuler who retired a year later. Who's my next victim?
