I hear you and generally agree. But it's not too late to get it going, and at least yesterday's putrid performance ended with a win. Imo there's a lot of teams out there who are no more consistent than the Jets. That includes Buffalo, who are not playing all that great after all. This game should be winnable, and if the Jets win, 5-3 doesn't look so bad.

But, the team at present does not inspire confidence on enough levels to add up as a serious contender. Some of the moves have paid off; others not so much.

I don't think other than perhaps Miami that the Jets frighten anybody these days.

I don't get the "we won the game, that's all that matters" sentiment. If you want to really look at the bottom line, then look at the fact that all the teams we played have losing records, with the exception of the Pats, who lost thier HOF QB, and are still in first place!
If we cannot beat a Bradyless Pats team, a Disasterous Raiders team, barely hang on against the Palmerless Bengals, And make Tyler Thigpen look like an NFL QB, then what are we going to do against "real" Teams?
Stop your rose colored glasses retoric, and fess up to the fact that the NEW YORK JETS SUCK!!!

Look at it this way -

6 turnovers in 2 games - no takeaways
    1-1 record
Favre had one returned for a TD yesterday and one in the end zone against the raiders.

He needs to stop turning the ball over period.

We are sitting in a great position record wise with 9 games to go. 1 game back in the east and #6 in the AFC....all we need to do is take care of the football and we are fine. That comes down to farve - he needs to make smarter decision. Pennington had 0 interceptions yesterday..can farve do that against buffalo?

Penny did that because Buffalo did not play cover 2 and left Ginn 1-on-1 with a gimpy Terrence McGee -- stacking 8 in the box.

    Two questions:

    1) Does Buffalo respect Favre more than Penny (which means they don't respect our running game)?

    2) How many seasons will pass before this forum quits dragging Chadwick back into the arguments? Will it take as long as Herm?

    Damn, move on people.

A win against Buf and alot will be forgiven, if we just showed some signs I'd be ok w/ 4-3 but we have played awful football offensively the last 3 weeks.

well done. Could not have said it better. We are making some pretty fundamental mistakes and still winning, ugly but winning. We are not the Giants or the Titants for sure, but we have a legitimate shot at some more key wins. We need however to tighten up our execution and play calling.
    A) Don't give the game away with bone head plays, penalties and interceptions
    B) Play better pass defense especially in the middle of the field - Key
    C) Play a smash mouth running game
    D) Protect your QB
    E) Stop alignments that tellegraph your play - run or pass
    F) More faith from the Jets fans and less bitching
