The Ravens have to be even more pumped about their playoff chances now. Facing the Pats isn't such a bad thing with all the injuries.
This sucks for Welker but the guy is very overrated. Welker was averaging 9.38 Receptions and 102.77 Yards per game. Julian Edelman, who was playing QB in college last year steps in and gets 10 Receptions and 103 Yards.
Ravens. Hopefully Baltimore knocks off NE. I feel good about matching up against ANY non divisional opponent.
I think that they would have flagged Pollard if he had anything to do with the injury. He sneezed on Brady once yesterday and got flagged for 15 yards roughing the passer. I feel bad for Wes Welker. I think you would be hard pressed to find a tougher, harder-working wideout and one who is as clutch as he is. I never like facing the Pats because of him. Moss doesn't bother me. Welker is the truth. Edelman may be able to step in and play his role, but I don't think he will be able to do it near as well. I don't feel bad for the Pats, however, and I really hope we get to play them in the postseason.
I heard something also about the Patriots' defensive coordinator having a heart attack during the game. Anyone else hear this? EDIT: Not a heart attack. Not an emergency.
Bingo. It sucks to see any player get hurt outside of a Bill Romanowski type, but I have no pity for the rest of that team.
Welker is overrated? OVERRATED??? He's had over 111 catches the past 3 years, and he kills us. Edelman put up 10 catches for 103 yards, and they scored 9 points. Welker had 15 for 192 against us. How any Jets fan can have the gall to call Welker overrated is beyond me. This is a huge loss. Welker is a perfect complement to Moss. And if we somehow got a chance to play the Pats in the AFC Championship, without Welker, we have a MUCH better chance.
As a football fan you hate to see a heart and soul guy like Welker go down. He gives his all every damn play and is fun to watch even if he is a fucking pat.
Agreed. If anyone has any lingering doubts about Welker's importance, look at the difference between the Patriots offense in week 2 when Welker was out vs. week 11 when he was in. I think that the Pats will be able to shut down Baltimore's running game well enough to get through this week, but I think that this injury is pretty much the final nail in their coffin in terms of serious Super Bowl contention.
