Love the pick. Not only is the kid a monster, but he gets to learn behind an all time great. Nothing not to like about this off season.
I don’t get the D’Brick comparison at all. Other than having a funny name D’Brick was a 4 year starter with almost 50 starts to his name. Polished and fundamentally sound Olu has 20 starts, and is very raw
I like Fashanu and had him rated as the number 2 tackle, but here's what scares me: JD has now spent 3 first round picks, plus a second rounder on Oline. He's drafted our "stud franchise" left tackle TWICE. Other teams are finding starters in the 3rd and 4th round while the Jets are still bringing in vets to cover their OL mistakes. JD is not good at this.
It is a great pick for many reasons: 1. The guy allowed one, count it one, sack in his college career. And he didn't play a Zach Wilson college schedule. 2. Great insurance in case either of our OT go down (likely w their history) 3. Can anchor LT for 10 years--unlike McDonald and Carter Warren, this guy is young. 4. A position of need!! I know many wanted Bowers, but we already have Conklin, Ruckert, Yeboah, and Kuntz. I really think Ruckert is the happiest guy on the jets right now that they didn't take Bowers.
Just for reference it was quite awkward seeing his girlfriend there. Mom wasn’t letting that bitch sit next to her boy on his big draft day.
When Becton heard the Jets just drafted a new LT, he went into his kitchen and came back with a gallon of whole milk and giant plate of chocolate chip cookies. He's saving the gallon of Chunky Monkey for midnight.
You’re missing the point. Cam Heyward just said that all these players in the draft need to use their platform to brighten someone’s day. I was feeling a little down until I heard i’ve got that to loo0 forward to.
That's exactly what happened. Douglas has tried a lot to fix the Oline but the results don't usually change.
