Or, we should stop confusing a strong arm with a good arm. Kind of like those competition guys who drive a golf ball 500 yards but most don't get scored because they're way off the fairway.
I took my troubles down to Madame Rue You know that gypsy with the gold-capped tooth She's got a pad down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine Sellin' little bottles of Love Potion Number Nine - Leiber & Stoller
It's a 5th round pick, so it's a good risk. It's not like picking Christian Hackenburg in the 2nd round.
Zach lacked certain skills and those skills didn't develop much, if at all. Help me out here experts. He couldn't read defenses and he didn't have good pocket presence. These are skills in which Mahomes excels. Is there anything else I'm leaving out?
He is inaccurate as fuck I’ve never seen a QB throw SO many passes off target as he did…over their heads by 5 yards, into the dirt 3 yards ahead of them, shit even half the catches receivers DID make were behind them or off target low…
Cool little read about how Jermain Johnson contacted Saleh during the draft and pushed hard for Jordan... Jermaine Johnson II advocated for New York Jets to draft former FSU teammate Jordan Travis (msn.com)
It's amazing how Travis protected the ball this season. 27 TDs (including 7 rushing) with only 2 TO (both INTs, no fumbles lost) in 11 games total. Hopefully he can play some pre-season games in August, though doubtful: Surgery was Nov 29th.
That was one of his strengths, very good at protecting the ball and making the smart throw because he knows he doesn’t have a cannon of an arm. He improved season to season.
No, I did not see Namath play at Alabama (I was born the year the Jets played in their last S.B.) and what he did in college is irrelevant. I'll just leave it lie... Still don't like the pick. It would be one thing if he were a 6'6" prototypical QB. He's not. He's smallish for the position, coming off a serious injury. We "wasted" an o-line pick on someone that will most likely not be around in a year or so. I will be most happy to be wrong but I don't think I will be.
ehhh.... If he can become a serviceable backup QB, then he would be worth it. It would've been nice to have one last season
Both really good points that I didn’t consider. My biggest worry with him is about the arm strength/talent but more specifically the fact that he looks like he really has to throw his body into throws to get it to where he wants down the field. The Jets definitely added a great kid to their locker room if he makes the team though and that’s always awesome.
Rich Cimini: QB Jordan Travis, speaking at rookie camp, was asked if he has thought about succeeding Aaron Rodgers in a few years: “Yes, sir. I do think about that a lot, but right now I'm just focused where my feet are, just getting healthy and getting everybody around me better, being a great teammate.” Does he see himself as a starter in the NFL? “One hundred percent. Yes, sir.”
