I am just curious, but how did the players you coveted in previous drafts work out?

Not really convinced he was BPA at that spot but a good pickup nonetheless. Great speed and great hands, both important things for any WR.

I wanted Phillip Dorsett, but Devin Smith is a good alternative pick.

He compliments Marshall and Decker perfectly.

It's a mixed bag, I'll admit. I wanted the Jets to draft Warren Sapp and I was a big Randy Moss fan, but I also loved the Mark Sanchez pick, to name just a few. And I'll admit I wasn't crazy about the Darrelle Revis pick, so I'm definitely not always right, that's for sure.

Exactly!! No longer will defenses be able to put 8 in the box knowing we couldn't get behind them. They will now need to honor that threat EVERY TIME he's on the field. This will open up things for the running game and will open up the underneath stuff for Marshall and Amaro and Decker. This pick is HUGE for our offense. Hopefully we have a QB that can get these guys the ball.

I noticed when he was hugging Goodell that his hands looked HUGE.

I'm excited about Devin Smith after reviewing his tape more, I think he'll be better in the pros compared to college. Excellent ball tracking skills. That catch remakes me think he has Odell Beckham like skills getting the ball.

great vertical leap, can run, can certainly stretch the field, and is a high character guy..
of course i like all those things.

but picking that high on a speed guy, i want a complete WR.
someone who can play either the Y or the Z, is shifty, and can contribute to moving the chains as well as providing that deep threat.
33 catches is not enough production.
also at that speed, and considered a big play guy, i'd expect some punt return abilities, which he has not shown.

as of now, he seems to me a part time player with one role....providing a deep threat.
considering our QB situation, i'm not sure too many teams will take that deep threat seriously tho.
wasn't crazy about the value on this pick. hoping he proves me wrong as he's got some positives going for him.

Most intriguing part about his tape from last year is the 3 different starting QBs

u think he's shifty enough to get open in tight spaces from the slot?
