Darnold doesn't suck, he's a rookie. Mayfield turned the ball over 4 times against the Raiders, and Allen was a trainwreck against the Packers. Who both have much worse defenses than the Jaguars. But we need a good offensive coach in here and a better roster if we want to win.

You're right that people are overreacting. But your theory is that their overreactions are justified, which is 100% wrong.
I get the frustration I really do, but the hot takes are hilarious to me. Getting Darnold is a good start, but realistically they still have gaping holes at key positions. I tried to reply to Hayden but something went wrong on the site .... Anyway I’ve been saying all along the Jets will probably finish 7-9 this season. Yes there are overreactions every week ..... Realistically this team needs at least 2 new OL , 2 playmakers for Darnold - a WR ( and figure out which FA WRs they are going to keep ) and an every down RB. Powell won’t be back - Crowell is also a FA. On defense they need 2 outside pass rushers one at OLB opposite Jenkins , one on the line and move Williams back inside . Counting 22 starting players to holes at this point I say the Jets need about 7 to be considered legitimate contenders. I’m not sure if that can be done in a single offseason but it will get them closer ....
