Idc about Devin Smith being out much, but not having Pryor, or Nick is a huge blow. Oakland is a young team on the rise, and we've always had trouble traveling there. It feels like they never come to our place, it's always an away game. I'm still predicting a win, but a loss really wouldn't be all that shocking.
Running the ball is crucial now, like when we took care of business Thomas Jones, Leon and rookie shonn Greene
amazing how Woodson is still playing. he's as savvy as ever, and definitely a turnover threat. Canton bound..
Im for letting all the air out of the ball and run Ivory 30 times....some play action to Decker in the red zone....keep the clock moving and make this game about 2 hrs 45 mins long Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just realized Rich Gannon will be doing commentary, so we can expect a very bias game called in the booth.
He hates the Jets as is, so it'll be brutal tomorrow. If Jets win this it'll be a victory you can be pround of. Injuries, west coast game, against an up and coming team that just handled the Chargers. Should be a close one.
The question is "How important is Nick Mangold to the offense?" The answer is: VERY. I think the team could have a hard time scoring much or sustaining long drives without him leading the way. The Jets defense should be able to keep the Raiders offense in check, but it might be tough to get the offense rolling without #74. Having said that........ still a 25% chance he plays.
Jets historically don't play well on the West Coast. Last time the Jets beat Oakland in Oakland was 38-0 in 2009, the famous Sanchez "hot dog" game. It was also a Jamarcus Russell meltdown game. The previous year, 2008, the Jets, with Favre at QB, had 5 games against West Coast teams out West (including Denver) and lost them all, including 3 after the Jets had established an 8-3 record. Oakland has improved well enough recently to beat the Jets on their home turf. Let's hope the Jets bring their A game out West.
We've had Oakland visit MetLife each of the last two seasons and absolutely destroyed them. They've improved, yes, but we've improved more and there's no reason for us to lose this game. If this is a playoff caliber team, they will win in Oakland by at least 8.
I'm scarred from the time we lost there about 4ish years ago, i blacked out and destroyed my laptop. I don't drink during jets games anymore.
hahaha fair enough, though the Raiders were actually decent that season before injuries ruined them, they were 7-4 at one point. The @ Denver and @ Miami games are what did us in that season, but looking back we expected too much from a weak roster and I could argue that our 2011 actually overachieved despite the hype going into the preseason.
I just remember in my drunken stupor thinking how could we lose to the raiders of all teams... We weren't that bad that year. Mark just held us back, and didn't have the best weapons.
I'll never forget that game. "The good news is Jamarcus Russell identified the single coverage. The bad news is, it was Darrell Revis." HA! Classic
4 PM seems like 2 days away. If Dakota Dozier plays he better grow up fast. Our run game is crucial here
lucky for me its 1 PM, which means I don't have to wake up early after a saturday night to watch my jets
Raiders probably won't let the Jets run on them. Fitzpatrick will have to win this game. He did well against the Pats, I hope he does the same this week
I don't see Carr being experienced enough to handle this defense. I had 31-13 originally but after the injuries I'll say 24-17 jets
