I didn't think Mangold or Pryor would play...Long trip...and facing two AFC teams at home on the return. Mangold is probably the most important of the 3 likely not playing. Makes the match-up much closer. Bowles is going to have to pitch a few defensive takeaways, and get the offense some healthy field position. I think holding out the banged up players make sense looking at the following week against beatable Jacksonville and Buffalo on the short week (Thurs). This is going to be a dog fight in Oakland.
I'd put my money on Mangold playing. As soon as it was reported as a "sore neck" I was pretty sure of it. Was there an official report of "doubtful" that I missed? The nfl site hasn't done that yet.
Mangold: "Right now, I'm planning on playing. I'm studying and preparing for a very difficult Oakland front." http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...k-mangold-plans-play-sunday-scary-neck-injury
I got a bleacher report team stream update on my phone. Don't know the source. Quick google search and other sports outlets are saying doubtful, however he will make the trip still.
Right, but that was yesterday, before he was officially listed (today) as doubtful. It could be one of those scenarios where the player wants to play, but the medical staff/coaches want to keep him out a week. I'm not stating that he won't play, only that there is certainly a possibility that he won't.
Does it count as a benefit that the clocks fall back an hour on Saturday to negate 1 of the 3 lag hours? Or am I reaching? I think it actually does.
Just read on Twitter that Stevan Ridley has been finally activated from the PUP list and Chris Owusu has been waived. Finally we'll get to see the Ivory-Ridley 1-2 punch. So excited!

Mangold DOUBTFUL really worries me. I am not too worried about the Jets D, even without Pryor, but the offense could really struggle without Mangold. We will see.
what's wrong with Devin Smith now? it's been one thing after another keeping out of camp/practice/games...
Yeah, I think on Wednesday. So hopefully Marshall, Decker, Kerley and Tomkins can handle the load. They should. If not, I think David Clowney is available.
at least they literally have to play Kerley now. i think he poses a great matchup against a hurting Oak secondary, especially if they try to double Marshall. we matchup well against Oak in general. unfortunately we don't have a TE, as Oak is the worst at covering them.
that will be interesting. i hope we can run with success, but Oak has been good against the run. the passing game will set up the run this game, rather than the usual other way around for us. have to keep them honest, and out of the box. that's the key to running it there.
For all intents and purposes its a must win game. Playoff teams take care of business in games like this
