we'll win this one and the san diego game. 4-3 @ the bye isn't bad san diego has been all kinds of mediocre. they're 4-1 but played like shit against bad teams and even almost lost this game to the broncos.
Yep. We've just lost some of our margin for error. All is not lost for the season. I'm really upset in the way we're playing right now, and I've already lowered expectations significantly from "Let's win a Super Bowl" to "Let's just get in the playoffs and hope we can make a run again." That said, 2 winnable home games. The San Diego one could be a big game because we'd own that tiebreaker. Then hopefully Oakland takes the division. Gotta win against Miami first though. Blow them out, and I'll have a lot more confidence going forward. Just win, and I'll be satisfied. Lose, and all hell breaks loose.
Agreed. 4-3 is the only option for this team. If they show desperation against SD, and pull out the win, they can right the ship in time for Buffalo. They have to practice during the bye week. They cannot take the bye week off like they usually do.
And we have to beat the team we play after the bye week, which we haven't done under Rex. With that game being Buffalo, it's even more important. The realist in me doesn't see a team that will be consistent enough to make the playoffs. The optimist/fan in me believes the defense regains its top form and the offense will get it together well enough where we're not terrible. If we can make the AFCC with the 2009 team, why not this year?
meh - given our performances to date I feel back in the same frame of mind I had when Mangenius was around - nice if we win, not that surprised when we don't. What happened to our ability to come back into games? Rex's kool aid seems to have gone stale and I am tired of every press conference seeming to be the same old tired cliches "that's a heck of a football we just played there", "take nothing away from them", "too many mental mistakes", "we have to keep improving" - its all the same things you hear from every coach around the league - Rex just seems utterly deflated (which is a shame as at his best he was the best thing to have happened to the jets) and his team is doing nothing to get him pumped back up again - these guys have no swagger (even Scott is basically throwing in the towel) and the only one tweeting these days is Kerley from the ones I follow.
Jets better win. Fuck the fish. Jets need to win 9 of their remaining 11 games if they want to have a legit shot at the playoffs, it's going to be a tough road ahead.
I hope MetLife Stadium is bananas and hypes this team up to win. That said, while I believe we have no excuse to lose, I do worry about Miami running on us.
You guys have beaten us 3 straight. You've lost 4 games in a row, but we've lost 3 games in a row, and we're much closer to 1-4 than we are to 3-2. The way our offense is playing, there's no such thing as a gimme.
The 08 win was due to Pennington and Favre throwing a pick (lol)...We don't have a real QB now. The 09 win was due to Ted Ginn...Our kick return game blows now. The 10 win was rainy and Holmes had a huge drop in which you guys had to get a FG....That defense that was top 5 last year...our defense now is bottom 3 in passing yards... It's a gimme. Even though you guys are reeling, we are terrible. If we were to win, Who the hell is gonna be that spark?
The fact that Ross hasn't canned Sparano is proof that the Dolphins are committed to Andrew Luck. Jets win, easily.
