I'd put DJ Reed in the dud category for that pathetic chase of Pacheco on his touchdown. And wasn't it him who blazed right by Mahomes when he was out of the pocket near the sideline? Becton was pretty shaky as well.
for the first part of reed i agree, 2nd part not so much. you know, i know, whole world knows that if reed tackled mahmoes, he's would've been flagged regardless of if the hit was clean or not. i think that was actually smart to not tackle him. imagine if reed does, gets flagged, we are all screaming at him...so it was a smart move.
Sorry, I thought you said Sauce was a dud. But I didn't say the OL should get no credit. There's a difference though between giving them credit and calling them "studs" IMO.
I was encouraged by what was probably Zach's best game as a pro. He made a lot of nice throws. But I wouldn't characterize his performance as "stud". he missed several (3 by my count) TD opportunities in the 1st half (Lazard, Conklin, Wilson) as well as a critical 3rd down pass (missed Conklin/ didn't see a wide open CJ 10 yards deeper) that ended in a punt when down 10-0. And despite his very good play to begin the 2nd half, after tying the game the Jets had 3 possessions beginning in mid 3rd quarter: punt (3 and out), punt (4 and out), fumble (6 plays). A QB that captains an offense that only produces 18 pts on 11 possessions doesn't get a "stud" from me-- regardless of his dramatic improvement over the horror we've become more accustomed to.
and I get that for sure. you are saying they were good but not good enough to be studs. from what I saw though zach had plenty of time and hall was cooking in the run game and it's not like KC has a bad d-line either.
I mean I get that, he wasn't perfect by any means. and yeah i'm grading him in a curve. but he did outperform mahomes on primetime TV despite the refs fucking us all game. and his WRs dropped some balls too
Very well said bro. It was back to normal for those last 3 possessions--don't know if that was ZW or Hacketts ballsack constricting.
Welp, now we know why the market for Cook was what it was this Summer. Would have rather had more OL depth.
Dud- Robert Selah: team came out flat, didn't play defense at all, allowed 17 straight points before they finally got it together, stupid call to kick the field goal 52 yards out. Can't allow 17 straight points in the 1st quarter and expect to win. Guy is a bad coach and if hes not fired this year we will waste a year of Aaron Rodgers next year. Obviously refs don't respect him either. If people are happy being a 6-11 team with Elite talent Robert Selah is your man. This moral victory shit still counts as a loss in the standings, last time I checked. This we lost but atleast battled shit is getting real old real fast.
Everyone complaining about refs. We were down 17-0 we got the safety and phantom horse collar call. We def benefited from some calls
Absolutely. Nobody gets a "stud" for doing what is expected of an NFL player. The standard should be in the top or bottom 20 percent range across the NFL to be listed at all. And that is against the entire league, not just against what they had been doing in the past. It's good to see a player or group go from a D- to a B- but that doesn't make them studs.
Safety was legit and the horse collar had no bearing on the game whatsoever. The horse collar call was in first down I believe not third and long to extend a drive.
yea correct but they weren’t game changing calls. Last two on jets and non call for jj hold were. Refs changed the outcome of the game!
