I don't recall the other 2 being must win, or see why they were. Other than the lame-duck main stream media labeling it as such.
I don't know about that. It would've been nice to capture the Bengals game but a loss against Buffalo (while) falling to 0-2 would've been an absolute disaster. The more I think about it the more I feel Buffalo was a must win. Starting off 0-2 overall, 0-1 within the division and 0-2 within the AFC would've been a nightmare. Now Kansas City may not be a do or die type of must win scenario but this game has playoff implications written all over it (week 3 or not). The difference between going 2-1 overall and 2-1 within the AFC when compared to 1-2 overall and 1-2 within the conference could be pivotal moving forward. The Jets pull off a win over Kansas City in Arrowhead Stadium come tomorrow and the Jets will then have one of the AFC's top 3-4 records heading into week 4.
I use an app called 'The Score' a very accurate app. It's also at K.C -2.5. And Walt White you're right. I just went over to Vegasinsider and seen that 65% of the nation have their money on the Jets against the spread and another 82% are taking the Jets with an even Money-Line. The odds makers and Vegas are most certainly trying to get more money to be placed on K.C. This line may continue to drop heading into game time.
I wonder if there's any late injury news on any of the Chiefs players. I thought all things being equal this was a pretty even match up at KC. If the game was in NY I bet we'd be -4 favorites.
Well I do know that Jamaal Charles is listed as doubtful. Starting Guard in Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is listed as questionable. While starting their starting Guard in Parker Ehinger as well as backup o-lineman in Jah Reid are both ruled out. And once again, you're right. Just checked and they do have a late injury that's emerged. Their nickel back/3rd CB, Phillip Gaines was limited in practice and now listed as questionable for the game. If it's true that the NFL & Vegas go "hand and hand" one can't help but worry about how the officiating will be called against our Jets. Way too much money being placed on N.Y meaning Vegas makes a killing of a profit with a Jets loss.
+100 Its nice that guys are starting to look at the Vegas Line like I do. Cinci was only favored by 2 in our opener and I knew then the Jets are keeping it close Interesting Theory that the Refs throw the game to enrich Vegas...I say I doubt it unless they can prove Ed Hochale has an Offshore Account in the Cayman Islands lol
I have absolutely no doubt that every week some games are affected by Vegas. One of the betting strategies is to wait until the last moment, select 2-3 most bet games and place your $$ against the public. I understand how difficult it is logistically; there is no way Vegas can bribe multiple refs on the field. They only need one though and you can always call a phantom drive-killing holding on OL.
There's been some late money going on K.C and the line has now gone back up from K.C -2.5 back to K.C -3.0. The Nation went from 65% taking the Jets against the spread & 82% even (ML) on the Jets to currently 60% on the Jets against the spread and 80% on the Jets with Money Line. On a side note it's great news to see Brandon Marshall's game status improve to 'expected to play'. He's playing.
Heard someone make a good point... the 6 best teams in the AFC might all be matching up this week. Patriots vs Texans Bengals vs Broncos Chiefs vs Jets You can certainly make arguments for other teams being in there, but the bottom line is that there's a lot of good week 3 AFC football, and some good NFC games too. Looking forward to it.
Big game for fitz today... on the road in arrowhead, bad weather with a limited marshall he cant turn it over if we expect to win.... because alex smith wont
Big day for Forte and Powell, especially with Marshall limited at best. Marshall's presence helps at least tho. But you're right, be careful with the ball, maybe conservative in the game plan.
Its gameday boys !!!! skipping out on a 300$ work day to watch this HUGE must win J E T S JETS JETS JETS !!
About an hour and a half until game time. Any news on the other starting Guard for K.C who's been listed as questionable?
