That's good news for the Jets game, these youngsters need Vet leadership this week against an explosive Jet passing attack.

TKO can be a difference maker in both run and pass defense.. TKO at 85% is still another playmaker on a youthful unit that seems to be playing with a purpose.

    hey dev,

Great write up. Nice job. Gives us something to look for on Sunday.

Both teams probably look at this game as a good matchup. You have the Bills who dont exactly light it up going against a team that struggles with the running game..and the Jets, who at this point, would struggle with a team if they got involved in a game that becomes a shootout...and this game has "under" written all over it.

Should be a great game....at least very competitive..and from what I read...if the Jets do not have some success running the ball this week..they never will? lol

    Nice job.

I said all along that the media under-rated the Bills and Jets horribly this season

I thoroughly enjoyed the smackdown you guys laid on Culpepper and the Fins.

I just feel pretty confident this year for this game- last year's craptacular game with Vinny left much to be desired. I think this team is leaps and bounds better than the squad we sent out Week 6 last year.

Anyway, here's to a good (and clean) game.

The return of the Chad continues :)

    Thanks.

I really think this will be a great measuring stick for both teams. Im very curious to see how our secondary and your passing attack match up.

The Jets are NOT clearly better than the Phins...

I have to agree - too early to say IMO. Speaking of the fins, where has that Blitzkrieg guy been?

Wow, Blitz has been absent from the Bills board too, perhaps he finally got a life instead of browsing all the MB's from all the teams in the east.

Or he's ashamed of his team and is waiting for a big win to come back?

The Jets have to take away willis and make Losman try to beat them. if Willis goes off(like he usualy does against us in Buf) then we will not win. Buf's run D is suspect as well so this might be the week we get the ground game going a little but I see Chad under alot of pressure and against a good secondary I don't think he has as good a day as he has had the first 2 weeks. Barring alot of TOs the game should be fairly low scoring and close but we always struggle at Buf so I give them the edge.

We can't give up another 8 minute drive with the game hanging in the balance.

I think the real question is will footballhottie come back this year with her cyber-stalker in tow? That was some good lowbrow entertainment right there.

    Speaking of that topic...

I can gladly say that I was wrong about the Dolphins winning the East this year. Maybe We'll even beat em?

In all honestly here's my opinion.

Bills Rushing Game - Willis is a pretty good RB with an avg. line. I don't expect more than 100 rushing yards from him. He will probably have a TD though.

Bills Passing Game - JP throws his first pick of the year (Rhodes) and makes a few mistakes, but yet he won't play too bad.

Jets Rushing Game - Barlow will get about 60 yards and be our leading rusher. The Jets run game sucks and we all know it.

Jets Passing Game - Pennington has a tough D to throw at, but I can with confidence say he'll throw for about 250 and 2 TD's, no picks...but he COULD get one.

Bills ST - Might be the best in the NFL

Jets ST - Nugent has potential but probably won't do anything great. Graham is great, and Miller can return.

Adv. Jets by a LITTLE amount. I think whichever team loses still has a shot at 8-8.

I agree with all that except the Passing game part. I am not saying Pennington wont do well, I just dont believe he will be mistake free. The Bills pass rush has produced 10 sacks so far and their secondary is the strongest unit on their team. The Bills wont sack him like they did Daunte but I think they will force a lot of pressure and throwing into coverage.

Win or lose I think Chad is gonna have a turnover or two.

The Bills OL is most certainly average (at best) but Willis is used even more with this staff then the past two. I think 100-125 yard game is probably what you can expect with anywhere from 75-150 yards from JP. This very well maybe JP's first turnover game.

Seriously, is the Bills secondary that good? Or have they just not played anyone that can test them? New Englands receivers aren't looking all that good these days and Culpepper looks awful all around. Do you think we test them?

Devin, nice objective post... well done.

Here is what I "think" Mangini will do.... 8 in the box. Even 9. The Jets know the Bills can run... and they know the run D has been less than stallwort. They also know that the Bills don't want to throw too much, so they will do what they can to force Losman to throw. That could backfire, if Losman connects with Evans deep.

Rhodes will very likely be playing center field to try to prevent the deep pass to Evans, but may be on his own, and Evans is dangerous.

On the other side, Culpepper is bad decision maker. He doesn't read the D very well, and has trouble checking down, both of those things are Pennington strengths. The Bills pass rush is very good. Don't expect too many 5 or 7 step drops. Your rookie safeties have been very good so far, but they are still rooks. I think the Jets will try to force them into mistakes, but whether or not that works.... we'll see.

I look for run blitzes from the Jets. The game plan has to be centered around stopping Magahee. Should be tough game for both teams. I think the Bills in their home opener have to be the favorites, and my head says 13-10 Bills. My heart says 17-13 Jets. We shall see!

You can make the argument either way honestly. Terrence McGee is playing corner right now probably at the top of his game, and Whitner and Simpson.....I would seriously be surprised with even if I wasnt a Bills fan. Im not saying all 4 spots are manned by pro-bowlers, I am saying however that I dont believe we have a weak spot in our secondary.

Evans is JP's favorite target. If JP sees evans get a step on someone he will lob it up. Ive heard rumors this game you will see a bit more passing from JP, I think Jauron and co. are expecting an 8 man look frequently.

Part of the reason our LB's and secondary have done so well to start is simply the Bills havent rushed more then 4-5 most plays. The DL just has been getting exceptional penetration. So the secondary and LB's are free to roam.

Chad is not Daunte, he made two throws last week with 2-3 guys in his face, both went for TD's. He is a weaker armed quaterback but is probably 100x's smarter and more accurate. So we wont scare him as much and we certainly wont get to many sloppy throws.

Ultimatley while i think you will see a lot of Willis/A-Train I think JP will open it up a bit more, which may very well lead to some bad throws. But if our D performs the way it has I think they along with our special teams will keep us in it.

Either way certainly a great game I am sure.
