Giants deserve alot of credit here. Fought back and played well when it mattered the most. I still say Carolina has the edge though if they meet again, and I think they will in the NFC Championship
I disagree. I think the Giants (FG pending), are now the clear NFC favorites and would win in a re-match.
I obviously couldn't disagree more. The Giants lost to Green Bay, New England, and Dallas(x2) in the regular season and beat all of those teams in the playoffs. The Panthers look like a Super Bowl team to me that will learn from this loss.
I think the fact that the game would be played in the Meadowlands sways it toward the Giants. They're both great rushing teams, but New York has the edge. I'm more confident in Manning and the Giants glut of possession time receivers (Toomer, Smith, Hixon, Boss) than Delhomme and Smith, an old Moose, and scrubs when it comes to throwing against the wind.
The fact that Cardinals and Broncos/Chargers will be hosting a playoff game just goes to show you what a bunch of bull the seeding really is
I may need to call my doctor in the morning, because I do believe this game is going to give me an erection lasting longer than four hours!!
Yeah, I was all for the NFL changing that, but it didn't pass last offseason. Winning a division should get a team a playoff spot and nothing more. I'd like to see seeding be based on record. Two of the road teams in the Wild Card Playoffs may be favored this year. The Cardinals' opponent might be favored and in the horse battle (Colts at Broncos or Chargers), the Colts might be favored.
