we should obliterate the Chiefs at home this week. This a team that has scored 35 points in the last five games. are you freakin' kidding me?? I think this game will look a lot like the Jaguars game. their defense is ok ... but not if it's on the field for 35 minutes.

The Giants can't run the ball, and they can't stop the run ... or the pass either, for that matter. The one thing they do well is what we're very good at ... stopping the pass. I'm happy to play a team that can't run the ball on December 24th. Good luck trying to pass your way to a win against us.

The Dolphins have played better, but they're still a 4 win team. The last time we played them, they managed to put up two FGs. I'm not terrified of the Dolphins the way some of the posters on here are. it wasn't an accident that they lost 7 straight games. If it comes down to needing a win to get in, there's plenty of teams I'd rather not have to play ... the Dolphins aren't one of them.

Going into Philly will be very tough. They're so much better than their record and we'll have our hands full. I did hear today that there's talk of Kafka playing out the season. That would be a nice break for us.

    I see us going 10-6

yeah Denver might actually win in a blowout, 13 -3 haha.

But that said, if Green Bay beats the raiders, the AFCW no longer matters to us. Because either the tebows win the division or the raiders, and at worst, that means the winner of the AFCW has 5 losses and the loser must have at least 6, thus they cant be in the WC (assuming we are 11-5).

Thinking about it, a not so bad scenario overall for us, is the Texans losing some games the next couple weeks and lose the next couple going into a dogfight with Tennesee week 17.

    Houston's schedule:

    Cincinnati
    Carolina
    Indianapolis
    Tennessee

With a 3rd string rookie QB (and now likely no AJ for at least a couple weeks) its not inconceivable the bengals defense wins them the game this weekend. Going to Carolina, Cam could pull out a win there. If that happens, the Texans are 9-5 and Tennessee is likely 8-6 (loss to NO) thus creating a likely week 17 for the division scenario. Winner take all, which is perfect for us, if tenn loses, they are a 7 loss team and out of it. If they Win, that means Houston would be at 7-4 in conference. Which doesnt help us get in the WC at 10 wins.

Where it does help us, is if Tenn wins this weekend. If tenn beats NO and Cincy beats Houston, we need to be rooting hard for Cam newton (or Dan Orlovsky in week 16). Because if both Tenn and Hou enter that game at 10-5, one team goes home, and the other walks out with the division, thus eliminating the Tennessee threat to our WC hopes at 11-5.

Plus if Cincy beats Houston, they may be playing AZ and ST Louis, but they have to go to St Louis, and Bradford should be back for that game. You just never know, rookie qb's are prone to mistakes, and Bradford would for the first time this year, be healthy himself, have a healthy Steven Jackson and have Brandon Lloyd to throw to. You never know.... Plus AZ has plaed a lot of teams tough, they just havent closed the deal too often. They arent gimmes for cincy with a rookie QB late in the year as the extra long season (without multiple byes to heal up) wears on the rookie's body.... Then there is also the Baltimore game to end the year which could if nothing else have seeding implications if not division chances if Pitt and Balt are still tied...

Ideal scenario this week is that Houston beats Cincy and NO beats Tenn. But it shouldnt be understated how likely it is that Houston loses some games down the stretch without an NFL QB and without AJ. Ideally they would beat Cincy, and lose to Cam and subsequently Indy to go into Tenn at 10-5. But i'm just saying if the opposite of what we want happens, then its not the end of the world either....

that 08 Dolphin team won 11 games. This Dolphin team is dogshit on a little winning streak. They don't scare me. They're a gutless team who hasn't won a close game all year. They can win blowouts against bad teams but they come up small when a game is on the line late.

I won't be surprised if the Eagles get on top of them early on Sunday and win by 20 points.

EVERYONE is looking past Miami. Truthfully, I think thats gonna be our toughest game. They are playing like the team the were supposed to be at the beginning of the season.

Even though we won the last two weeks, the wins were gross for the most part (maybe except the 4th). This team cant seem to put together a full game. That's my main concern.

Even if we make the playoffs, how can we beat a team like NE, Baltimore or Pitt if we play 15 minutes? Not gonna happen...

The two phases we could count on- Defense and ST's, has been as inconsistent as Schottys play calling.

We have a long way to go to becoming a playoff caliber team again.

    Thats just fucking retarded.

So a team that has won its last four, playing a team struggling for a spot in the playoffs that hasnt put together a full 60 minutes of football, in all phases have been inconsistent and are playing a division rival... This doesnt scare you?

    Really.

Exactly, if we dont put a full game togehter we arent going far in the playoffs. I think this more than anything else is the key to success in our future. Being able to play consistant and putting a full game together.

I'm getting of tired of seeing the offense look like the team I thought we could be on one drive and the next three be complete dogshit (This is more pointed toward the offense but still the defense is not exempted either).

    We go 11-5:
TN needs to lose - most likely will happen to either NO with Houston as next best possiblity
CIN needs to lose - Hopefully to Houston this week with Baltimore week 17 most likely
DEN or OAK one of two needs to lose one game with multiple possibilities for that to happen

    We go 10-6:
TN needs to lose Twice - Best chances against NO and Houston but tough to count on
CIN needs to lose - Hopefully to Houston this week with Baltimore week 17 most likely
DEN or OAK one of two needs to lose two game which will most likely happen

    We go 9-7:
    TN needs to go 1-3
    CIN needs to go 2-2
DEN or OAK one of two needs to go 1-3

I believe we get in at 10-6 but very unlikely we get in at 9-7

Well you basically just stated a bunch arguments proving that the jets can win every game and finished saying that jets will go 10-6

Didn't get that, but i can also easily see the jets going 10-6, losing to the giants
I mean, kc has to be an easy win, dolphins won 4 games agains weak teams, philadelphia is a turnover machine already eliminated from the playoff race
Giants seems like the only real tough game

first of all it hasn't won its last four. they played one good team in the past five weeks and lost. aside from that, we already played them and they managed to put up two field goals against us. So, no ... they don't scare me. If it comes down to needing a win in Miami to make the playoffs, I'm very confident we'll go down there and win.

are you talking about us or the giants? not sure if you noticed but we cant really run the ball either. 30th in yards per carry, 24th in rush yards. not exactly blowing teams away on the ground.

giants wont be an easy game for us... not at all.

looking at the schedule, i dont think its out of the realm of possibility that the texans go 1-3 the rest of the way, finish 10-6, and miss the playoffs. 2 of the 4 games they play are vs teams who basically need to win out, the other is against cam newton, certainly capable of going off at any time.

You really think the Titans could beat the Texans for the division?

i think its possible... i mean the titans would obviously have to beat them in the head to head meeting, then cincy(ina doe ro die spot right now) wouldnt need to beat them.

basically, if ten wins out, and hou loses to the panthers, titans would be in.

i dont think thats likely, but i wouldnt be shocked... especially with schaub out and AJ beat up

we've run the ball much better the past 6 or 7 weeks. The Giants haven't ... including an embarrassing 29 yards against the Eagles.
it won't be an easy game ... we don't have many of those. but it's a game we should be favored in and should win.

    last 4 games:

101 yards, 3.4 yards per carry
138 yards, 6.0 yards per carry
125 yards, 3.7 yards per carry
110 yards, 4.4 yards per carry

other then a big game vs a terrible bills run defense, not really any better then we have done all season.
favored... maybe... id think jets +1.5 should win... idk about that... if we win, we'll ahve to bring out A game

Im not so sure about that ... take a look at the first four or five games ... especially the Ravens and Cowboys. we're light years ahead of where we were then. OL is playing much better, and Greene has been much more of a factor. in fact, the reason we didn't run better against the Broncos, was because we were down to McKnight and Powell so you really need to discount that game.

and the other side of the equation is we can stop the run pretty well (3.9 ypa) ... making their running game even worse. they can't stop the run at all (4.6 ypa) ... making our running game a little better.

I'm not saying the game will be a cakewalk ... but I expect the Jets to win. I'm honestly much more worried about going to Philly.

    beat you to it.

Without an NFL caliber QB, they could slide/fall off a cliff. The are playing a solid defensive team this week, which is going to sell out like mad to stop Foster. Then next week its basically going to be Cam Newton vs. Arian Foster. The colts game, supposing houston loses these next 2, could be Indy's best shot at a win. A demoralized Texans squad, watching their lead slip away and without a capable QB to at least try and right the ship.

It's not impossible Houston loses out at goes 9-7. QB injuries are very hard to overcome. When you lose your second guy too, it almost never goes well.

Like I said, If houston hits a slide and week 17 becomes win or go home for both teams, thats great for us. Better if Tennessee is well out of it by then, but not bad at all. plus Cincy beating AZ and St Louis (with a healthy offense) is not a gimme for a rookie QB in december...

Where you confident that we would win when we were trying secure the AFCE vs NE? Probably...

Were you confident we would win vs the Broncos? Most Likely.

Point is, this team has played too inconsistent to go into a game, as a fan, completely confident.
