True.. I hate the gaints as much as most jet fans and that win was as satisfying as any since 1-16-2011, but it should not carry more weight than our first playoff berth in four years.
Add Mike Florio to the long list of Jet Trolls.....ranks Jets 10 but then says they're not making playoffs: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dont see the issue. the top 10 teams dont always make the playoffs, especially when one conference is better then the other like the AFC is compared to the NFC this year. The vikings arent in the AFC, if they were he wouldnt have them in the playoffs over the jets. He has the colts and texans behind the jets, one of those teams will win the division and make the playoffs. he has the jets just missing out, with the steelers ahead of them, i dont see how that is some crazy notion
He's actually using some level of objectivity in ranking then 10, but doesn't think that will maintain. I don't think that makes him a troll.
they can stay at 10 and not make the playoffs... as 5 of the teams ahead of the jets are in the AFC and one of the texans/colts have to win that division regardless of if their record/play is better then the jets or not
I am happy the Giants game ENERGIZED this Jets fan base, but you still have to be realistic. The team is (7-5), but still have games at Dallas and Buffalo, plus the home finale against the Patriots. With Kansas City at (7-5) , the Steelers at (7-5) and a bunch of other AFC teams at (6-6), nothing wrong with Florio saying that. The part that makes him kind of a troll is that he mentions it in the Power Rankings. What a dick.
Revis and Marcus Williams were back at practice today so they'll probably suit up this week. Pryor also practiced. Very encouraging.
Great news. If Revis is indeed back, I say the Jets ATTACK the rookie Mariota. Try to overwhelm him. If he responds well early, back off. If not: Keep rolling.
Honestly.. I think the percentages are not in our favor. Why do I think the steelers will run the table?? Too much pessimism built up over the years.
This is far from trolling. He puts them in the top 10 which shows respect, but doesn't think they will get in. They are the 6th seed today. Far from a lock. Not a crazy prediction at all.
Mike Florio may not be trolling Jets fans this particular week, but you only have to look at his pasty asshole face sucking Patriots dick on SNF to know that he is a worthless piece of inanimate garbage that would be jettisoned before the launch on the lowest quality Caribbean cruise.
Look, I'm not saying I'm not enjoying the winning, but I'm also not getting fooled in to thinking the team is better than it actually is. It's a team playing one of the softest schedules in the league. Will I take a playoff birth with that? Hell yes! But I'm not getting suckered in to thinking the team is better than it actually is, and I hope team management doesn't sit on it's heels in the off season and make the same mistake they made the last two times.
Okay, what you can't argue is that despite playing about the softest schedule in the league the good teams with roughly the same SOS all over 10+ wins, save Atlanta (which really isn't a good team). The point being good teams destroy weaker competition, they don't play one win over .500 ball 3/4 of the way through the season.
The Titans and Cowboys both have the worse records in the AFC and NFC ...If we lose either of these games we don't derveve to be in the playoffs
Nothing wrong with that. Personally I think the Steelers have a tougher road than us, so if they make it and we don't, the would have earned it. KC schedule on the other hand is pretty soft. Against SD this week is a gimmie
They are actually somewhat confident in a division title. Shittiest division in the league. I still say it's the Redskins.
