I pray to everything holy this isn't a trap game coming after a huge win today. We've seen it in the past. We have to have the next 2 games if we want to get serious about making the playoffs. Fuck relying on other things.. Just win.
I'll feel a lot better if we get Revis or Williams (hopefully both) back, but this is a game the Jets have to have. They've got a better D than they get credit for, but we should be able to run against them.
He had a 87 yard TD run, which is the longest run in the NFL this season. I thought that was funny because some of his detractors prior to the draft said he wouldn't be able to run on NFL defenses.
Titans are better than their record shows and Mariota has played very well at times. That said, we have a far more talented roster. If you want to make the playoffs, these are the games that have to be automatic Ws. No excuses, no style points, just get the win. Same goes for Romo-less Cowboys the following week.
I'm gonna say the Jets win convincingly 30-13 to move to 8-5...Mariota throws 2 INTs and fumbles once
Moot point if Houston beats Indy in their upcoming showdown and win the division. Jets have tiebreaker on Indy. It's why I am hoping the Colts beat the Steelers today but lose to the Texans down the road, Texans tiebreaker win has no barring on the Jets if they win their division. I would be shocked if that week 17 showdown in Buffalo isn't flexed to the season finale on SNF.
I'd like to think today's win was a watershed moment for this team. We'll know next week one way or the other. These slow starts by the Jets Offense has to be addressed by Gailey. Its almost as if his 1 qtr script never works and the team doesn't wake up on offense until late 2nd, early 3rd qtr. By then, the D has already played massive minutes. Bowles just beat his first SB winning opposing HC. Not pretty but a win none the less.
Cmon, the Titans have no running game and their only 3 wins came against Tampa, NO and Jacksonville. Two of those wins were close. I don't see them scoring many points. Jets D is going to stomp a mud hole in Mary's ass.
Regardless, I don't see the Titans having that kind of success on offense that will keep the jets D on the field for two thirds of the game.
I hope Chan has a better first half than what we've seen lately too. Just seems it takes him one half to get his shit together. We need a faster start. I hope Bowles doesn't allow this team to take this game lightly. 40mins is a stretch, but I think you get the point.
They need to throw the ball down the field more and stop the bullshit throws at the line of scrimmage.
At the very least, throws should be BEYOND the 1st down marker and then whatever YACS are a bonus. I also like the screens to Powell but Chan got too predictable with them.
